Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is adding the beloved side character Casey Jones as a new playable protagonist in February. Developer Super Mega Evil Corp originally released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate for iOS and Mac in 2023, earning ample praise from fans of the Heroes in a Half Shell for bringing their favorite characters into a gripping Hades-style roguelike adventure. The game’s story was co-written by TMNT comics scribe Tom Waltz and Super Mega Evil Corp creative director Michael Johnson, and sees the crime-fighting brothers battle many of their classic enemies on a mission to rescue their mentor, Splinter.
Eventually, TMNT: Splintered Fate made its way onto other systems, launching on the Nintendo Switch on July 17, 2024, as a temporary timed exclusive and reaching PC by way of Steam and the Epic Games Store a few months later on November 6. Super Mega Evil Corp has promised additional content for TMNT Splintered Fate, such as new playable characters, enemies, and environments.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate – How to Unlock the True Ending
Beating Shredder does not mark the end. The only way to save Splinter is to unlock the true ending in TMNT: Splintered Fate. Here’s how.
The first of these expansions was just announced in a press statement from Super Mega Evil Corp. This new TMNT: Splintered Fate DLC is titled Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam, and will be available across all platforms on February 5. As its name suggests, this new content will add Casey Jones as a playable character, along with a new environment called the Punk Yard Biome filled with Punk Frogs to battle. As shown in the Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam trailer, Casey will be the first TMNT: Splintered Fate playable character with a ranged attack, in which he launches a hockey punk at unlucky opponents.
TMNT: Splintered Fate Casey Jones DLC Release Date
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans were first introduced to Casey Jones in the pages of the original Mirage comics, and the hockey mask-wearing vigilante has been a staple of the franchise ever since. He has naturally appeared as a playable character in numerous TMNT video games, even serving as a post-game unlockable bonus in 2022’s retro-style TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge.
Casey appeared in a non-playable capacity in the base Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, and now it looks like the hot-headed hero is joining the action on February 5. He is likely just the first post-release character to join TMNT: Splintered Fate’s playable roster, and the TMNT universe is rich with combatants that would make for great additions to the game. For example, April O’Neil and the IDW version of Angel Bridge/Nobody made similar non-playable cameos in the base campaign, so perhaps they might join Casey in the future.
