It’s time to sling your way through New York in Spider-Man 2, as long as your PC is up for the challenge. Nixxes have released the Spider-Man 2 system requirements, and while running the game with ray tracing requires a high-spec machine, older gamers aren’t being totally left behind.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has almost identical specs to Horizon Forbidden West, another PS5 game ported to PC. While older rigs can handle this game at 720p, you’ll need one of the best graphics cards out there if you’re going to be pushing for ultimate ray tracing performance at 4K.
Here are the Spider-Man 2 system requirements:
Minimum (720p at 30fps) | Recommended (1080p at 60fps) | Ultimate ray tracing (4K at 60fps) | |
OS | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (version 1909 or higher) | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (version 1909 or higher) | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (version 1909 or higher) |

If you’re unsure whether your PC can handle Spidey’s crime-busting adventures, you can take our Spider-Man 2 system requirements PC benchmark test to answer… Can I run Spider-Man 2?
The Spider-Man 2 minimum specs almost completely mimic those of Horizon Forbidden West, which is no surprise given that both games are PS5 ports that use expansive open worlds with a high level of graphical fidelity.
With that in mind, you’ll need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT for your graphics card, alongside a quad-core Intel Core i3 8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 for your gaming CPU. You’ll also need 16GB of RAM, along with 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
Those specs are roughly four to five years old at this point, so anything older might not be good enough here. With a PC like this, you’ll be able to shoot for 30fps gameplay at 1,280 x 720 using the very low graphics preset. It’ll be just about playable, but it won’t be as graphically appealing, and that’s also a low resolution. Most games set 1080p as the baseline for minimum requirements these days.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man 2 recommended specs up the ante by a significant notch. Switching up to the medium graphic preset will get you 1080p at 60fps, as long as you’ve got an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 for your GPU.
CPU requirements aren’t as big of a boost, although you will need to switch up to a six-core Intel Core i5 8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600. 16GB is still the RAM requirement here, too.
As for the Spider-Man 2 high specs, these ramp up a little higher than other PS5 ports in the past. An Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 GPU is required, while a much faster Intel Core i5 11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600 GPU is needed.
With these specs, you’ll be able to hit 1440p at 60fps using high graphics settings. Even with the dense world of Spider-Man 2, the quick traversal that is possible in-game, and how that impacts the loading time of the environments, the RAM requirements still stick to 16GB at 1440p, keeping it in line with the PS5’s own specs.
However, the situation gets decisively more powerful when we look at the requirements for playing with high or ultimate ray tracing enabled. For Spider-Man 2 high ray tracing specs, you’ll need a GPU architecture upgrade, where only an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT will do.
CPU requirements take a small bump upward too, with an Intel Core i5 11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, although 16GB is still the requirement for RAM at this point. A PC with these specs can switch to using the high graphics preset with ray tracing set to high, too.
The Spider-Man 2 very high ray tracing specs require an even more powerful PC. The GPU requirements inch ever forward, up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX as a minimum, which will get you 1440p at 60fps.
Meanwhile, the 12-core Intel Core i7 12700K or AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (or better) will be sufficient for the gaming CPU, with the RAM requirement still set at 16GB. With these specs, set your graphics preset to high, but set your ray tracing settings to very high.
If you’ve own a top-spec PC, you might just be able to match the Spider-Man 2 ultimate ray tracing specs. This will give you 4K at 60fps on average, with very high graphics settings enabled, along with ray tracing settings set to ultimate.
At this point, only an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 or better will do for your graphics card. The CPU, meanwhile, will require an upgrade to an Intel Core i9 12900K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D or better. This is the only spec that sees the RAM requirement increase too, with a switch up to 32GB.
As you might expect from a game with these requirements, the Spider-Man 2 download size is going to be big. The PC version is larger than the PS5 file size, sitting at 140GB, and an SSD will be required to run it. If you don’t already have one, picking up one of the best gaming SSDs such as the WD Black SN850X would be a good upgrade here.
Nixxes is a studio with a great track record for porting games such as this one, with the company ensuring that Nvidia DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3.1, along with Intel XeSS upscaling, is included from day one. This means that you should have ready access to upscaling options to get the best balance of performance and image quality for your needs, as long as your PC has the power to match the presets you use.
That leads to the obvious balance that Sony and Nixxes have struck with this game. For the best-looking graphics, you’ll need a top-spec, modern gaming rig with a ray tracing-capable GPU. However, if you’re still playing on your potato PC of old, you might just be able to handle 720p gameplay, giving just about every type of gamer the chance to swing around the rooftops.
There’s one bit of bad news, however. While Spider-Man 2’s PC release is a good sign, there are no Spider-Man 2 DLC plans in the works. If you want to scratch that Marvel itch in a game that is definitely getting updates once you’ve finished Spider-Man 2 on PC, then Marvel Rivals might be your next stop.
