One Pokemon fan has created a new variant for Fidough, revealing what a croissant-themed design would look like for the creature. Ahead of the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, many Pokemon fans have taken existing pocket monsters and given them new appearances, with this Fidough artwork one of the latest to be shared online.
As part of Gen 9, Fidough has only been part of the Pokemon franchise for a few years. Introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on the Switch, the Pokemon has an adorable dog-like design and features pastry elements, as the same suggests. Specifically, the Gen 9 Fairy-type Pokemon features a pale coloration with yellow highlights and has doughy body parts. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A expected in 2025, one gamer decided to imagine what a new variant of the Pokemon could look like.

Keeping the baked goods theme, a Reddit user known as HertzBurst created a croissant variant for Fidough. Called Kalosian Fidough, the fan-made Pokemon had a darker brown coloration compared to the standard design. In addition, the pastry inspiration could easily be seen as the ears were made up of individual croissants. According to the information from HertzBurst, it is categorized as the “Croissant Pokemon” and has the Fire typing in addition to the Fairy type. Other details included the height and weight of the variant and its ability.
Pokemon Fan’s Croissant Fidough Variant
Since posting the variant idea on Reddit, many users have upvoted the design. In the comments, some users wonder about the inspiration for choosing the Fire type for the Fidough variant. According to HertzBurst, they got the idea from the heat of ovens, which would be used to bake croissants in real life. In addition, the variant made sense considering its French inspiration; Lumiose City in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is based on Paris, France.
While many fans enjoyed this fun variant idea for Fidough, it is only one of many alternate designs created by HertzBurst. For example, they previously created an Alolan Pikachu, imagining what the variant of the Pokemon might look like. In addition, their artwork goes beyond Pokemon, with their Reddit page featuring pieces inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog, Astro Bot, Marvel Rivals, and more.
As fan art like this recently shared croissant Fidough attests, fans are excited for Pokemon Legends: Z-A to launch. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were released over two years ago, so fans are hoping that the next game will be worth the wait. With the game expected to run on the upcoming Switch 2, it seems fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
