Denis Villeneuve then directed Dune and Dune: Part Two, two incredibly successful and beloved adaptations that were released in 2021 and 2024. There’s so much to love, from the epic plot to the performances byTimothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, and Rebecca Ferguson.
While fans wait to see the movie adaptation of Dune: Messiah, it’s the perfect time to catch up on the two previous movies. Since Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two have so much depth, intensity, and action, they should definitely be watched more than once. But where can fans stream the franchise?

Fans Can Stream Dune: Part One On Tubi February 1st, 2025
According to Comingsoon.net, Dune: Part One is leaving Netflix on February 1st, 2025… but there is great news for fans, too. Variety reported that Dune: Part One will be available on Tubi that same date. Since it’s best to watch Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two before the TV series Dune: Prophecy, it’s good to know that although Dune: Part One won’t be on Netflix, it has found another home.
Tubi is a free streaming service, which sets it apart from others. According to Digital Trends, subscribers can instead find a library of TV shows and movies that weren’t made recently. As Digital Trends noted, Tubi has ads. However, all streaming services now have ad-supported tiers, and since Tubi is free, subscribers likely won’t mind the ads.
Dune dives into the life of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), a teenager whose family runs the desert planet Arrakis. It’s an incredible starring vehicle for Chalamet, who has appeared in some great movies but who has arguably become an even bigger movie star thanks to this high-profile role. Both Dune and Dune: Part Two can only be described as “epic,” both in terms of the story and length. Both movies are around two and a half hours. Some might argue that movies that are almost three hours long are frustrating and unwieldy. There are certainly critics and fans who would say that Dune and Dune: Part Two should be shorter. However, one could also argue that the movies couldn’t be any shorter since there were a lot of story details and character arcs to include.

In an interview with Empire, Chalamet talked about starring in indie movies such as Beautiful Boy and Call Me By Your Name and then appearing in Dune, one of the biggest blockbusters of the past few years. He talked about his acting career and said:
“I wouldn’t do it any differently because coming from a drama high school too was the perfect notch-up. It made sense. To be brave enough to learn from one’s own experience. There was a step up that felt healthy about that. Denis Villeneuve has a very earthy, energy-based, moment-to-moment way of being inspired, but also in abandoning ideas he might have had 24 hours ago. It’s inspiring.”

After watching Dune: Part One on Tubi, fans can watch the sequel on any of the following streaming platforms: Netflix, Max, and Prime Video.
Many felt Dune: Part Two improves on the first in certain ways, and director Denis Villeneuve has spoken at length in many interviews about what sets the sequel apart from the first film. As Villeneuve told IndieWire about how Paul Atreides’s character arc changes in Dune: Part Two:
“For the second one, he becomes a man, a guerrilla fighter falling in love, and wants to avenge his father, and it’s more of an action movie. We are confronted with the guerrilla warfare and the technology of the opponent. That will transform the old story and transform it into a war zone.”
Dune: Part Two received several Golden Globe nominations and was a box office success. Now fans are waiting to hear more news about the third Dune movie. In November 2024, star Josh Brolin said he hadn’t been given a script yet. In June 2024, Deadline reported that Dune: Messiah could be released in December 2026.
