Netflix has finally unveiled the release date for the highly-anticipated Season 3 of the worldwide phenomenon, Squid Game, set to premiere in mid-2025, promising even higher stakes, shocking twists, and brutal new games that will keep fans on the edge of their seats.

According to Netflix, the third and final season of Squid Game will premiere on June 27, 2025. Taking it to X, the official handle of Squid Game shared the first poster for the upcoming edition and revealed the release date. In the poster, a guard wearing the iconic pink jumpsuit can be seen dragging the body of a deceased player (Player 214) into a coffin that is shaped like a box in which people are often given presents. The poster is very colorful and features flowers of color yellow, orange, and white. The caption noted, “Nothing can prepare you for the final season. Squid Game Season 3 premieres June 27.” The streaming platform unveiled the release date as a part of their “Next on Netflix” event in which the platform reveals what fans can expect from the streamer in the coming months.

The official release date for Squid Game season 3 comes almost three weeks after it was reported that the final season might arrive on June 27. As per the report, the official channel of Netflix Korea shared a video on its official YouTube channel, and in the description, it accidentally announced the release date as June 27. Although the video was taken down, fans and journalists got an idea about the release date. It would be interesting to see how the makers move ahead with the story and which players are actually alive at this moment of the game. As of now, the competition in Season 2 hasn’t finished and no one knows if there was a winner for this edition. So, the makers have a daunting task of taking the story forward and continuing with the story after what happened at the end of Season 2.

With the announcement of the official release date, Netflix has made it clear that it doesn’t want the fans to be losing interest in the story. Rumors suggest that Season 3 will introduce international players and high-profile actors, expanding the Squid Game universe beyond South Korea.
