A spinoff of the third game that brings some unique ideas to the table. Assassin’s Creed should be lauded for letting players control a female protagonist for the very first time in the series. It also lets players don three different personas for the protagonist, Aveline.
She can either don the Assassin’s gear with all the advantages it offers, wear a slave getup to get access to certain areas at the cost of less weaponry, or dress up as a lady to charm guards with ease but lose all her freerunning abilities. This mechanic had some interesting applications, even if some players found it irritating to be without their tools when they were being chased by guards who could annihilate Aveline if she didn’t have many combat options to rely on.
