Critical Role just revealed some massive plans for the Dungeons and Dragons actual play, including a massive 8.5 hour finale to Campaign 3, the four-part Exandria Unlimited: Divergence miniseries, and several shows to celebrate the stream’s 10-year anniversary. Fans of the Dungeons and Dragons actual play can watch the finale of Campaign 3 on February 6, with Exandria Unlimited: Divergence starting the following Thursday.

The third campaign of Critical Role is rapidly coming to a dramatic conclusion, with Bells Hells having finished the fight against the final boss in its last episode. However, in light of the recent fires in Los Angeles, Critical Role announced that it would hold a special charity fundraiser one-shot on January 30, rather than take its usual off-week.

A spiritual sequel to Exandria Unlimited: Calamity and Downfall, Divergence will tell a story of mortal survivors rebuilding in post-apocalyptic Exandria after the end of the Calamity, when the Prime Deities construct the Divine Gate and leave the world. Dimension 20 legend Brennan Lee Mulligan returns as the guest GM for this four-part miniseries, with Critical Role cast members Matt Mercer and Liam O’Brien joined by Celia Rose Gooding, Alex Ward, and Jasmine Don as players. Then, on March 13, fans can watch an Exandria Wrap-Up, answering questions and topics pertaining to all three campaigns, as well as the Exandria Unlimited installments.

The recent fires in LA heavily impacted the show, with the Critical Role episode on January 9 being postponed to give the cast time to recover from the catastrophe. Critical Role actually revealed the upcoming finale was being filmed the same day the fires started, so viewers shouldn’t be surprised when the cast changes clothes halfway through the episode, as it was technically filmed on a different day.

Exandria Unlimited: Divergence will be wrapping up right before Critical Role’s 10-year anniversary on March 12. Fans will have to wait and see what surprises the actual play has to announce around the big milestone, be it a release date for the fourth season of The Legend of Vox Machina, the start of the fourth campaign, or even a Critical Role video game.
