The Witcher 3: Every Alternative Look, Ranked

The Witcher 3 has free DLC in the form of alternative looks for Triss, Geralt, Yennefer & Ciri. But which are worst & best? We rank all 7 of them.

While the game’s focus is largely on Geralt, there are plenty of moments when Ciri shines. Whether it’s complaining about books, chastising her friend for flirting with Geralt, or talking about her year in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, here are some of the most memorable things she’s said.

Updated on January 28, 2025, by Gerardo Molina: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has many interesting characters, and while the game’s story revolves mainly around Geralt, Ciri also plays a pivotal role in the narrative. Ciri is very important in the story, not only because she’s the daughter of the Emperor of one of the most important and greatest empires on The Continent, but also because she carries Elder Blood in her veins, which makes her a target wherever she goes. Ciri is not only an avid fighter and a smart negotiator, but she’s also a kind-hearted woman who looks out for the interests of others, often above her own.

No. I Will Flee No More

Ciri Finally Takes Control Of Her Destiny

The Witcher 3 - Ciri I Will Flee No More

It’s no secret that Ciri has always been a key component of the welfare of the Nilfgaardian Empire and many other aspects of The Continent. Her Elder Blood grants her special powers that make her a target for various factions that wish to use it to their benefit. This has forced her to live on the run, fleeing wherever she goes.

However, at some point during the story, she’s finally fed up with it and decides to face the danger. In a poetic way, she’s implying she’d rather die free than live in hiding.

She Reassures Gretka That There’s Nothing To Fear

The Witcher 3 - See This Thing On My Back

During the mission, “The King of Wolves”, Ciri comes across a small child named Gretka, who is understandably very scared as a vicious monster has attacked and killed some people near her. To comfort her and reassure her that there is nothing to fear, Ciri drops this epic line which not only conveys her own confidence in her Witcher skills, but also goes to show how much she cares about the well-being of those who can’t fend for themselves.

This proves Ciri’s true character and showcases how different she is from her cruel father and his ruthless ways.

Demolish The Place

An Emotionally-Charged Moment For Ciri

Witcher 3 Demolish The Place

Ciri’s encounter with Aen Elle was less than pleasant. The horrible woman ranted about the impurity of Ciri’s blood even though it carried the Elder Blood gift/curse among other things. At that moment, much of what Ciri had come to believe was proven false and she felt utterly betrayed.

Later, Yennefer was concerned she’d set her powers free in her emotional state and level the place to which Ciri replied, “Shame I can’t do that at will, because I’d really like to now.” Which gave players a great moment to see Geralt become a cool dad and let Yennefer show her mischievous side.

A Peek Into The Future

Witcher 3 Metal In Their Heads

Probably the most talked-about moment in the entire game is shortly after Geralt and Ciri are reunited. Ciri explains how Avallac’h kept her safe by taking her to various worlds in hiding.

One particular world that Ciri and Avallac’h hid out and caught players’ attention. To a disbelieving Geralt, Ciri relates the details of this curious world that players have been excited to explore themselves, “People there had metal in their heads, waged war from a distance, using things similar to megascopes. And there were no horses, everyone had their own flying ships.”

Witcher 3 You're But A Witcher

Geralt is understandably concerned about this last-ditch attempt as Ciri may very well die from the confrontation. He questions whether there is another way or if this will even work to which Ciri replies, “What can you know about saving the world silly? You’re but a witcher.”
