The classic PPSh-41 SMG has made its debut in Black Ops 6 following the Season 2 update, and it’s sure to shake up the close-range meta.

The WW2-era SMG was made available in multiplayer and Warzone, alongside other news weapons like the Cypher 091 and the TR2. Known for its blistering fire rate, the PPSh-41 was almost overpowered back during the Warzone Pacific days and it remains just as effective in close-quarters engagements.

As is the case with any weapon, you’ll need to equip the best attachments to get the most out of it So, here’s the best PPSh-41 loadout in Black Ops 6 including Perks, equipment, and more.

Best Black Ops 6 PPSh-41 loadout attachments

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag 1
  • Stock: Combat Stock

The PPSh-41’s biggest drawback is its vertical recoil and to help mitigate it we’re using the Compensator muzzle. The attachment decreases vertical recoil by 35% which is a significant improvement. Next up is the Reinforced Barrel which boosts both the damage range and bullet velocity, making the SMG slightly more viable for long-range engagements.

In the underbarrel slot, the Ranger Foregrip gets the nod. The attachment improves horizontal recoil control and provides a slight buff to movement speed while sprinting. The weapon’s rapid fire rate means that it chews through ammo quickly, making Extended Magazine 1 a necessity. Lastly, the Combat Stock improves mobility by boosting slide and dive-to-fire speeds.

Our Perk selections gel perfectly with the PPSh-41’s close-range capabilities, starting with Gung Ho which lets you reload while sprinting. Fast Hands is up next and it allows you to switch weapons faster. In the third slot, we’ve gone with the new Slipstream Perk which removes Tac Sprinting but increases your base sprint speed.

If you go with Perk Greed as the Wildcard, we recommend opting for Ninja. These selections will let you dart around the map with ease all while making minimal footstep noise.

Tactical and Lethal equipment can boil down to personal preference but the Concussion grenade is great for slowing down enemies and then swooping in for easy kills while Frags are always effective at taking out downed enemies or drawing them out of cover.

PPSh-41 pros and cons

Where is the PPSh-41 in the BO6 meta?

Despite impressive close-range TTK, the PPSh-41 is unlikely to dominate the meta. The SMG’s recoil coupled with its lack of versatility holds it back, with both the KSV and Jackal PDW being better overall options. The weapon is best suited for small-sized multiplayer maps like Subsonic, Stakeout, and Nuketown.

How to unlock the PPSh-41 in Black Ops 6

The PPSh-41 can be unlocked by completing Page 6 of the Season 2 Battle Pass. You’ll need to grind for XP to get your hands on it but it is completely free to unlock.

Best alternatives

As mentioned earlier, the KSV and Jackal PDW remain the meta picks in this class. Both weapons offer fast fire rates and excellent TTK while being more effective at medium distances.
