In Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, Skullrock Island becomes Marona and Crew’s Home Base. This small island is nonetheless a crucial part of your strategy, with various facilities run by your Phantoms to support your adventuring efforts. Some of these can be directly upgraded using BOR, while others will be indirectly upgraded by the level of the Unit running them.

While you’ll only have a few Facilities available initially, you’ll quickly unlock more as you progress through the early chapters of Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero and grow your roster of Phantoms. From helping you share your experience via the Juice Bar to gathering new weapons and items with the Salvage Facility, plenty of powerful options are available to support your Pirate Crew in and out of battle.

7 Best Tactical JRPGs That Are Not Part Of A Franchise

There are plenty of amazing one-off games that fans of tactical JRPGs will enjoy. Here are the best of the genre outside franchises.

Juice Bar

Phantom Brave_The Lost Hero_Juice Bar

The Juice Bar is probably the most valuable upgrade early in the game. While initially it only lets you divert a portion of your earned EXP from each map into a pool you can freely distribute (already quite handy for leveling up new units), it becomes far more valuable once you upgrade its EXP limit past 100%. At that point, in exchange for no EXP being distributed to your units in maps, you’ll be gaining bonus EXP that can be used however you wish. For example, at 110% you’d be gaining 110% of the EXP you’d normally get and all of it would be in that freely distributable pool.

Upgrading the Juice Bar will require increasing amounts of BOR, but it quickly pays off as you get further into the game and have more units to level up.

Salvage

Upgrading the Salvage Facility is something you’ll want to prioritize once you’ve got access to more than one salvage location since it allows you to reduce the time taken to gather items through salvage. Since the Average Archipelago (Your first available salvage location) can’t have the time reduced below 30 minutes, there’s no point in upgrading Salvage any further until more locations are available.

Shop

Phantom Brave_The Lost Hero_Merchant 2

The shop can’t be directly upgraded but is instead improved based on the level of the merchant assigned to it. As a result, it’s important to keep leveling up your Merchant as you continue through the game so you’ll have access to higher-level items as needed.

Marina (Ships)

While the Marina itself can’t be upgraded, your ships can and should be. Each of the available ships (which increase in number as you progress through the game) offers different buffs to your crew which will increase in strength as you upgrade them. Upgrading ships will require certain items found in maps as materials, such as trees or rocks. Upgrading the Aprille can be especially useful for improving EXP Gain, though finding the materials can be tricky.
