With rumors flying that an imminent re-release of The Sims 1 for modern machines is on the horizon, we thought we’d dive back into the original life management game. But, wow, it was so much more difficult back then to thrive as a Sim without a little helping hand. So, with a little digging, we found all of The Sims 1 cheats and their effects.
We’ve also got huge guides on all of The Sims 4 cheats, as well as some of the best The Sims 4 mods to really customize your gameplay if you’re still dabbling in the series’ most recent instalment. This guide, however, will focus on cheats for the original The Sims, as well as how to use them.
The Sims 1 cheats
All of the cheats for The Sims 1 are:

You’ll note that there are two different cheat codes for more Simoleons above – this depends on the version of The Sims 1 that you own, and which expansion packs you’ve got installed. It’s worth trying both to find out which works for you. If you don’t want to constantly copy and paste the money cheat to get the riches your Sims need and deserve, you can add ‘;!’ multiple times after the code to multiply its effect. For example ‘rosebud;!;!;!;!’ would grant you 4,000 Simoleons.
How to use The Sims 1 cheats
To open The Sims 1 cheats panel press Ctrl + Alt + C to bring up the window. Type in your cheat code and hit enter to action it.
With some cheats this will automatically close the cheat entry panel. If it doesn’t, press Ctrl + Alt + C again to close it.
The world is your oyster now, or at least the limited world of The Sims 1 is. With such a stark contrast between The Sims 1 and 4, you’ll soon be deep in nostalgia, deleting pool ladders, and screaming at fires.
