PlayStation Plus Premium offers subscribers a wide assortment of benefits. Naturally, the tier’s main selling point is its library of current and classic games, covering nearly every PlayStation console (Vita has yet to receive any love). Beyond the games, PS Plus Premium subscribers can also use PS5 Cloud streaming and watch Sony Pictures movies, along with enjoying all the features of the Essential and Extra tiers.

One aspect that does not get enough attention is PS Plus time trials. Subscribers can try out a range of projects for a defined period, and the selection is expansive and impressive. While PlayStation provides an index of the PS5 games with free trials, this lineup is not exhaustive nor updated consistently. Consequently, let’s go through every game trial on PS Plus.

PS5 & PS4 Games With Time Trials On PS Plus

Last of Us, Spider-Man 2, Stellar Blade, & More

PS Plus Premium has well over 60 PS5 and PS4 with free trials. Their lengths generally fall within the 1–3 hour mark, although some exceptions exist on both sides of the spectrum. While an hour trial might not sound particularly long, it should provide enough experience for players to get a feel of the gameplay, allowing them to make an informed decision on whether they want to drop cash on a project or not. That said, this type of trial has more value for short-burst games like Carrion, Balatro, and Eternights than open-world time-sinks such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

The best PS5 free trial games are arguably for divisive or maligned projects. The Callisto Protocol, Sonic Superstars, and Atomic Heart all have trials that are substantial enough to confirm to players if they might get enjoyment out of the full experience. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth also has a surprisingly long trial at 10 hours.

PS VR2 Games With Time Trials On PS Plus

Moss, Broken Edge, & More

Besides sampling traditional PS5 and PS4 games, Premium subscribers can also try a handful of PS VR2 titles. While these PS Plus free trials generally only offer 30 minutes or 1 hour, that is usually enough to give players a good indication if the virtual reality project is for them. Most of these games are also fairly short as well, and their gameplay loops remain fixed for most of their campaigns.
