So far, Xbox Game Pass subscribers only have two games to look forward to when it comes to the February 2025 lineup. New games are added to Xbox Game Pass throughout each month. There wasn’t a whole lot for Xbox Game Pass subscribers to look forward to in the first half of January 2025, but the second half of the month has been much busier.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers have been treated to a variety of games in the second half of January 2025, including notable day one releases. Eternal Strands has earned mostly positive reviews and is currently available as a day one Xbox Game Pass game, while Sniper Elite: Resistance is joining the service on January 30. Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is coming to Game Pass as a day one game on January 31, and will be the final new game added to the subscription service for the month of January.

Now that we’re nearing the end of January, Xbox Game Pass subscribers are understandably anxious to learn what February 2025 has in store. Unfortunately, only two games have been confirmed for the Xbox Game Pass February 2025 lineup so far. First up is Far Cry New Dawn, a spin-off/sequel to Far Cry 5 that originally released in 2019 to mixed reviews. The headlining new Xbox Game Pass game for February 2025 is Avowed, the latest RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, which will be available to subscribers beginning February 18.

Published by Xbox Game Studios, Avowed has been highly-anticipated for years. It boasts gameplay not unlike Skyrim, but trades a massive open world for large open zones instead. I have played Avowed‘s opening hours and came away very impressed with the game, to the point where it’s now one of the games I’m looking forward to most this year. I don’t know if the full game will meet my expectations, but I’ll find out when Avowed joins Xbox Game Pass on February 18.
More games will join Xbox Game Pass in February 2025 besides Avowed and Far Cry New Dawn, but they haven’t been announced yet. Since Far Cry New Dawn was part of the Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 announcement, chances are the next update on Game Pass games coming in February 2025 won’t come until Tuesday, February 4 or thereabouts. Xbox Game Pass subscribers should keep an eye out for more information on the February 2025 games, and can mark their calendars for Far Cry New Dawn and Avowed in the meantime.
