  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC port offers ultrawide resolution, raytracing, and upscaling tech.
  • High-end PCs can use Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, or Intel XeSS for enhanced visuals and performance.
  • No PlayStation Network account will be required for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC, but PSN users will receive bonus content.

One day before Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 goes live on Steam and Epic Games Store, PC port developer Nixxes detailed some of the game’s new features, including ultrawide resolution support, raytracing, and upscaling technologies. Nixxes also revealed the PC specs that players would need to run Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at different settings.

Originally released on the PS5 in October 2023, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the critically acclaimed sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man and a follow-up to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Insomniac developed all the ongoing Marvel’s Spider-Man titles, with Nixxes helping with the respective PC ports. Nixxes has also ported other PlayStation IPs to PC, such as Horizon Forbidden West and Ghost of Tsushima. Although Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was confirmed to get a PC port over a year after its original PS5 launch, Nixxes remained quiet after revealing the PC port, which caused some Spider-Man fans to express their concerns about the project on social media.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Could be ‘in Early Production’ at Insomniac

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 might already be in the early production stages, though it might still be some time before the game is ready to be shown.

However, with a day to go until Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC launch, Nixxes addressed those concerns with a long-awaited update. In a PlayStation Blog post, Nixxes revealed some PC-specific features that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have when it goes live on January 30. Nixxes stated that high-end PCs can use Nvidia’s DLSS Ray Reconstruction to improve raytracing quality on supported graphics cards, including the RTX 40 and 50 series. Along with Nvidia DLSS, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will also support AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS upscaling technologies to increase performance on supported hardware. The game will also run on ultrawide resolution monitors at 21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratios, including triple monitor setups at a 48:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, running the game at the minimum setting is possible on GPUs such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650. However, raytracing will require a high-end GPU, like the RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT, along with a multicore processor such as the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or newer.

Nixxes also confirmed that a PlayStation Network account would not be required to play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC. However, PSN remains in the game as an optional feature for trophy and friend list support, but players who use it will get two new suits for Peter and Miles to wear based on Spider-Man 2099. All preorder bonuses for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be permanently available as PC purchase perks, including the Arachknight and Shadow-Spider suits.

Although Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will not receive any story DLC, PC players will soon be able to web-sling through New York City. Only time will tell how the game will fare after launch.
