Pokemon fans can now earn two highly coveted shinies in Pokemon Home, but claiming these mons can be a bit more of a challenge than some players may expect. Players can earn a shiny Enamorus in Pokemon Home by completing the Hisui Dex in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, as well as a shiny Manaphy by completing the Sinnoh Dex in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. While both of these tasks are not easy, undertaking the challenge in one game is far more enjoyable than doing so in the other, showcasing two very different sides of an iconic Pokemon region.
Despite differing in name, the Sinnoh and Hisui regions are one and the same—only separated by time within the Pokemon universe. However, the gameplay of their respective games is vastly different, with Pokemon Legends: Arceus being the series’ first foray into real-time creature-capturing mechanics and action RPG gameplay. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are very divisive among players, while the fresh gameplay of Legends: Arceus is beloved, making returning to these games to complete each Pokedex and earn these shinies two entirely different tasks for fans.

Pokemon’s Shiny Enamorus and Manaphy Giveaway is a Blessing and a Curse for Fans
Completing the Hisui Pokedex in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a Worthy Challenge
For many longtime series fans, Pokemon Legends: Arceus was a breath of fresh air with its new take on the franchise’s traditional gameplay. Searching for critters in the overworld and attempting to capture them in real time made the journey towards completing the Pokedex even more rewarding than it had been in previous games. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A on the horizon, the opportunity to earn shiny Enamorus is the perfect excuse for players to dive back into Legends: Arceus and finish their Pokedex.
While there are some bumps along the road to completing the Hisui Dex, such as having to find all the wisps needed to access Spiritomb, the overall gameplay of Legends: Arceus is far more engaging than other entries in the series that rely on random spawns. The various Ride Pokemon available in Pokemon Legends: Arceus like Wyrdeer and Braviary make traversing the map much more convenient as well, speeding up some of the process of hunting for one of every mon. As such, the process of completing the Pokedex in Legends: Arceus is one of the more enjoyable experiences of the series, and earning shiny Enamorus as a reward is the icing on the cake.
After completing the Hisui Dex, players will need to confirm their completion from the “Games” tab of Pokemon Home to receive shiny Enamorus. The same applies for obtaining shiny Manaphy after completing the Sinnoh Dex in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Completing the Sinnoh Pokedex in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Can Be Tedious
Although it was released only a few months before Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the community consensus on Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl leaves it as the black sheep of the franchise. Many fans had hoped to see Gen 4 remakes on the Switch for years leading up to the game’s release, but the form Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl took was underwhelming to many players. These remakes adapted the inferior Diamond and Pearl games over the enhanced Platinum Version, meaning they retained much of the criticism from those originals such an overall sluggish pace to the game that makes it tedious to complete.
The BDSP Pokedex omits some of the critters only available in the post-game, such as Gliscor and Yanmega, as well as those found exclusively in the Grand Underground, so there isn’t as large of a Pokedex to complete as it might seem. However, the traversal options for exploring the Sinnoh Region in BDSP are far more restrictive than those offered in Legends: Arceus, with the return of HMs from the original Gen 4 games and technical limitations like awkward hit boxes impacting options like Cycling and Surfing. The desire for a shiny Manaphy may draw some players back into these games, but it’s clear that obtaining shiny Enamorus is the far more appealing prospect, given how much better it feels to complete the Legends: Arceus Pokedex.
