With the first month of 2025 coming to an end. Players of Pokemon GO are excited about all the future Pokemon that will be involved with the Spotlight hours. However, in the last Spotlight Hour of January, we can expect to see Yungoos. This Pokemon is known to look like a weasel and is an absolute Pokemon fan favorite. This Spotlight Hour is set for January 28th, 2025 at 6PM – 7PM.

This Spotlight Hour also includes receiving x2 candy for transferring this Pokemon. Giving players the opportunity to capture and transfer makes this week’s Pokemon GO spotlight hour really exciting. Players are also expected to save Pokeballs, Berries, and Incense for this wonderful event.

Diving into Yungoos it is found to be # 734 within the Pokedex. It comes from the Alola Generation 7 and can be transferred to Pokemon Home and also can be traded. Catching this Pokemon gives the player 3 candies and 100 StarDust.

There are two evolutions for Yungoos with 50 Candies AND during the day the player can evolve Yungoos and Gumshoos. Yungoos has a max of 994 CP (Combat Power), 122 ATK (Attack) and 56 DEF (Defense). This Pokemon is found to be a Normal Type Pokemon and since Yungoos is Normal Type it is weak against Fighting-type attacks (160% Damage). However, it has reduced damage from Ghost-type attacks (39%). The best moveset for this Pokemon is Tackle (Normal-type attack) and Crunch (Dark-Type Attack) giving 4.44 DPS (Damage Per Second) and a 19.32 TDO (Total Damage Output) these moves are boosted when the player uses Yungoos in Partly Cloudy and Fog weather. If the player wishes to get additional moves it will cost 25 Candies and 10,000 StarDust. There is a shiny version of Yungoos available. The only difference between Yungoos and Shiny Yungoos is that the color down their back changes from yellow to purple and Yungoos toes turn from black to white.

If the player wishes to place Yungoos in a battle against another Pokemon it is not smart, since Yungoos are not the strongest nor have the strongest hit. It is smart to use Yungoos first if the player chooses to use Yungoos in a battle. Since Yungoos is such a smaller Pokemon and is weaker, it is also not smart to place Yungoos in a gym or to use Yungoos in a raid. The player should always check how well their Yungoos are before applying these Pokemon to any future battles.
