PlayStation is adding new in-game perks to PC titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, God of War Ragnarok, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for players with a PlayStation Network account. Over the past few years, Sony has been making an increased effort to bring some of its biggest PlayStation exclusives to the wider PC market, and this picked up considerable steam in 2024. While the original version of Horizon Zero Dawn was already ported to Windows in 2020, the updated Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered was released on both PS5 and PC back in October. Meanwhile, the 2022 hit God of War Ragnarok was brought to PC in September.
The recent wave of PlayStation PC ports will continue well into 2025, as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (originally released on the PS5 in October 2023) will launch on PC on January 30. On April 3, last year’s PS5 remaster of The Last of Us Part 2 will join its predecessor on Windows. Both of these ports offer enhanced technical features for higher-end PC owners, and Sony has recently built up some goodwill among concerned gamers by dropping the controversial PlayStation Network account requirement that soured past PC ports for some of these new releases.

Switch Exclusive Could Be Jumping Ship to PlayStation
Fans discover that an upcoming game currently only announced for the Switch may be getting a PlayStation 4 and 5 release, too.
There might still be an upside to having a PSN account while playing PC ports, as Sony announced that it is working to add new bonus content and other benefits for PSN users. For example, those who sign in to their PSN account while playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC will unlock two alternate suits: the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit for Peter Parker and the Miles Morales’s 2099 Suit. Meanwhile, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered players will similarly have access to the Nora Valiant outfit at startup.
PlayStation PC Port PSN Bonuses (So Far)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Early unlock suits: the Spider-Man 2099 Black Suit and the Miles Morales 2099 Suit
- God of War Ragnarok: Gain access to the Armor of the Black Bear set for Kratos at the first Lost Items chest in the Realm Between Realms (previously only accessible in a New Game+ run) and a resource bundle (500 Hacksilver and 250 XP)
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered: +50 points to activate bonus features and unlock extras and Jordan’s Jacket from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet as a skin for Ellie
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: Gain access to the Nora Valiant outfit
PSN users who sign in to play God of War Ragnarok will gain early access to Kratos’s Armor of the Black Bear set at the first Lost Items chest in the Realm Between Realms instead of having to start a New Game Plus run, along with a resource bundle of 500 Hacksilver and 250 XP. Lastly, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered players can earn 50 points to activate bonus features and unlock extras, as well as equip Ellie with Jordan’s Jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 sci-fi game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Sony promises to work with creators at PlayStation Studios to help make more bonuses available to PC owners who choose to log into their PlayStation Network accounts to play the latest PC ports. The past requirement of a PSN account to play these ports drew backlash from gamers due to the service not being available in all regions, and these newly announced incentives will likely remain a sticking point for this very reason. Still, fans who do have a PSN account now have a little something extra to look forward to when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and The Last of Us Part 2 launch on PC.
