Monster Hunter has been a massive deal for Capcom ever since Worlds released in 2018, so it should come as no surprise to anyone that Wilds is going to be absolutely huge as well. We already know how many gamers are interested in it thanks to the beta that went live a few months back, but it seems that excitement is reaching a fever pitch.
Monster Hunter Wilds Has Overtaken Deadlock On Steam Wishlists
As pointed out by ResetEra user jitteryzeitgeist, Monster Hunter Wilds has just hit a big new milestone before its even released by jumping ahead of Deadlock and Hollow Knight: Silksong to become Steam’s most wishlisted upcoming game. This is in addition to it being the seventh bestselling game on Steam’s global list.
Clearly there’s a lot of buzz around Monster Hunter Wilds, but it is notable that it’s managed to overtake one of the most-talked-about games of the past generation and Valve’s next big release. There are a few factors at play here, of course. Out of the top three games, Wilds is the only one with an actual release date, which is bound to influence how many people actually wishlist it instead of just hitting follow.
As for the rest of the list, it’s pretty much what you’d expect for the most part. Civ 7 and Elden Ring Nightreign are both underneath Silksong which makes sense considering how massive they’re bound to be. With Civ 7 launching next month as well, we can likely expect that to rocket up the list as it gets closer to launch.
For now, though, it seems that the whole world is eagerly waiting for the chance to jump back into Monster Hunter Wilds. Considering the fact that it’s launching on February 28, that means we won’t be waiting long at all to see just how well it fares in the grand scheme of things.
