Summary
- Galacta from Marvel Rivals will be getting her own Funko Pop next week.
- The figure will be the first Pop based on a character from the popular new hero shooter.
- Fast work from NetEase and Funko considering the live service game isn’t even two months old yet.
Whether you’ve been hopefully obsessed for the last six weeks or you’ve been watching from the outside and claiming it’s nothing more than a superhero-filled Overwatch clone, there’s no denying Marvel Rivals has been a massive success. Clearly the powers that be must have been confident that would be the case as two months into its run, Funko is preparing pre-orders for Rivals’ first Pop.
That’s according to Funko Pop News which has been teasing we’d be getting Marvel Rivals figures this year. I’m not sure even whoever it is that runs that account expected them this early, though. According to Funko Pop News, Rivals’ first Pop will be Galacta, and it will be available to pre-order starting next week.

Marvel Rivals: Who Is Galacta?
The giant purple girl in the Marvel Rivals trailer looks familiar, but just who is Galatca and what is she doing in the game?
If you’re currently scrolling through the Rivals roster, puzzled as to who exactly Galacta is, don’t worry, you’ve not missed something obvious. Well, actually, you have, sort of. Galacta is not a playable character. Galacta is the Marvel Rivals mascot. You know that voice that repeatedly yells “They’ve captured the mission area” and informs you that “You can’t win ’em all” every time you lose? Yeah, that’s Galacta.
Two Months In And Marvel Rivals Is Already Getting A Funko Pop
Big Win!
Galacta is more than just a voice, of course, otherwise she wouldn’t be able to be turned into a Funko Pop. She is effectively the face of Marvel Rivals which is why it makes a lot of sense that she would be the first character from the game to get a Funko Pop. Since a deal between Funko and NetEase was likely struck before Rivals had even launched, the safe bet was to go for a non-playable character since, at the time, there was no knowing who players would fall in love with, or grow to hate, during the game’s first few weeks.
Take Jeff, for example. While I’m sure the Rivals version of the Land Shark will get a Funko Pop eventually, I can’t imagine the Rivals team foresaw its player base being so split after the adorable strategist. While there’s plenty of love for Jeff, having an almost unavoidable ult until it was nerfed made him a lot of enemies during season zero.
If you’re on the love side of the Jeff fandom, Youtooz revealed its first figure based on the Land Shark last week, it’s just not officially tied to Rivals. It is an official Marvel figure though, of course, and pre-orders for it and Youtooz’s new Throg and Alligator Loki figures are now open.
