Kingdom’s English Release Announcement Could Be Postponed

kingdom manga could be delayed

Unfortunately, there is a possibility that the announcement will be delayed because Viz Media’s official account was hacked by scammers. After the attack, the entire account timeline was filled with tweets about cryptocurrency. The posts contained links, and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that clicking on them could compromise a person’s account.

At the time of writing, Viz Media has not made an official statement about the current status of the X (formerly Twitter) account. However, fans should expect an update in the coming days.

The Greatest General Will Conquer The West

Kingdom is written by Yasuhisa Hara. It began serialization in the Weekly Young Jump magazine on January 26th, 2006. So far, a total of 74 volumes have been released, making it one of the longest-running manga series. According to a statement from 2015, Yasuhisa Hara plans to extend the series to 100 volumes.

Kingdom’s consistency is a key reason behind its popularity. Readers have been following the series for years, which is why it always sells well. The latest report states that Kingdom manga has sold more than 110 million copies, which cements its place among the best-selling titles of all time. It is safe to say that the English release of Kingdom will push this number higher, and it could easily supplant other titles.

Kingdom’s anime adaptation has been subject to a lot of criticism. The first season caused fans to rebuke Studio Pierrot for the anime’s pacing, skipping important story arcs, and the use of CGI. Things got better in the second season, but there was still a lot of work to do. So, Studio Pierrot teamed up with Studio Signpost (a subsidiary of Pierrot) to produce the third, fourth, and fifth anime seasons. This triad has garnered positive reviews from fans, who will be hoping that future seasons are handled in a similar manner. Currently, there is an announcement regarding the sixth season of Kingdom.
