Earlier in Coridden‘s campaign, players will find some obstacles that seem impossible to overcome, but progressing through the story missions will gradually grant them powers that wipe out these obstacles one after another.
Swimming towards the opposite side of a river is one of those obstacles that only certain species of creatures are capable of. This is also the key to infiltrating the castle in Varun Cliffs, which is a main quest in Coridden that doesn’t come with enough explanation. This process includes killing a creature boss and obtaining its form, Crocolisk, a sea creature.

Head To Varun Rapids – Coridden
When the player reaches Aatama Valley, they receive a marker for Varun Cliffs on the map, but that entrance is obviously blocked. But there is a way around from Varun Rapids. This location doesn’t have a marker on the map, but it is located on the left side of Varun Cliffs’ entrance. Simply jump off the Varun Cliffs’ bridge and take the path to the left until you find the gate to Varun Rapids.
Reach Water Cave – Coridden
At the north end of Varun Rapids is a Water Cave where Big Crocolisk resides. The path to the Water Cave is through the river, but it could be quite dangerous and difficult to swim all the way with a non-sea creature. So, it’s strongly recommended that players swim until they reach Sejal Village and then use the boats on the southern coast of the village to traverse the river. The good news is hitting the spiky obstacles with the boat does not replenish HP, so players can travel safely.
It’s worth noting that there are a bunch of side quests and activities that can be completed along the way to earn more coins, attribute points, and new gear.
Defeat Big Crocolisk – Coridden
The best way to defeat Big Crocolisk, like most bosses in Coridden, is to use a ranged attack, but this is even more important in the case of Big Crocolisk, as it deals melee damage at a significant range that makes lurking too close to it quite dangerous.
So, either use a bow or rely on your creature form’s ranged attack. It will probably take longer to beat the boss this way, but it’s a lot safer.
Head To Boltpicker’s Camp – Coridden
Equip the Crocolisk creature form and exit the cave from the same gate you entered. Now, cross to the left side of the river using Crocolisk form and take the path north to enter Varun Cliffs. Here, take the path shown on the map to reach the Boltpicker Camp.
Keep in mind that entering the camp requires a creature that can bash through soft obstacles. Crowned Ramox is capable of doing this. So, just equip the creature and run towards the wooden gate to destroy it.
Inside the camp, you can continue the story quest, but keep in mind that the archers inside could be quite deadly. So, make sure to get rid of them first.
