Upper Dynevron is the third realm that players will explore in Eternal Strands, facing off against new types of enemies that are much stronger. This location features more Ark units than in the previous realms, and they come in different melee and ranged types, capable of dealing elemental damage to Brynn.
Similar to the previous realms, there is also a new Epic Encounter in Upper Dynevron that challenges the players with a new variant of the Ark boss. This time around, players will have to deal with the Ark of the Living Flame, a heat-based boss that sends out flaming projectiles, but also rewards the player with more high-value drops even before being defeated.

6 Beginner Tips For Eternal Strands
Eternal Strands is a new off-beat action RPG that can be tricky to get a handle on. Thankfully, these beginner tips are here to help.
Recommended Builds Before Fight
Before engaging in battle, keep in mind that this boss only deals Heat damage, which means the player is strongly recommended to Reforge their armor pieces with Heat-heavy materials to increase the heat resistance as much as possible.
When it comes to dealing damage, both melee and ranged weapons can come in handy. Since the boss itself is Heat-heavy, shooting fire arrows with Flame Bow will boost the overall damage, though the remaining flames on its body may deal minimal damage. But overall, using the raw arrows is just fine.
Both the original Sword & Shield or Frost Sword & Shield (in case you’ve earned the blueprint already), will work fine. The plan is to climb up the boss’s body and deal melee damage, so using the elemental frost damage will not be crucial.

The Ashpeak Drake is an intimidating monster in Eternal Strands, but it can be taken down fairly easily once you know what to do.
Special Spots Of Ark Of The Living Flame
Similar to Ark of the Stricken Earth, the Living Flame variant also has some special spots on its body, but these spots will not reveal the vulnerable parts of the boss. Indeed, the Living Flame’s vulnerable body parts are already visible, and the player can deal damage to them, ignoring the special spots. However, the special spots on the Ark of the Living Flame offer high-value drops, including Cinder-Infused Linen (5-star) and Refined Serenite (4-star).
Living Flame has five special spots in total: Two on top of the wrists, two behind the knees, and one on the chest. Hitting the chest one is easy using the bow, but the other ones are easier to destroy using the sword. Keep in mind that after destroying the shell in these special spots, a red muscle will come out, which should also be destroyed to drop the high-value material.
Obtaining Ember’s Servant Strand
After getting the material drops, you can focus your fire on the vulnerable spots of Living Flame. These include the belly, the arms, and the bottom half of the legs. The vulnerable muscles in Living Flame will take longer to become immune. The player can drain half of the boss’ HP by shooting at its belly before it becomes immune. But overall, the legs are quite easy to target with the sword.
But be aware that Living Flame will attempt to pick you by his hand and throw you away sooner than Stricken Earth. So, when you see the hand is looking for you, just drop down and run away.
After defeating the Ark of the Living Flame, it will drop Ember’s Servant Strand. By delivering this Strand to Dahm in the camp, Brynn will gain access to a new Fire ability, which allows her to summon a companion.
