The Ray Gun remains a consistently sought-out classic in Black Ops 6, just as it did back in World at War all those years ago. With the arrival of The Tomb, Black Ops 6‘s new Zombies map, players might want to spin the Mystery Box again and again, hitting useless weapons, wasting their points, and chasing down the next Mystery Box spawn in search of that elusive Ray Gun. However, that all ends now.

Surviving the Blood Ritual to acquire the Gold Armor in Black Ops 6 Zombies’ The Tomb is no small task, but this guide should help players achieve it.

In The Tomb, there is a guaranteed way to get the Ray Gun through a side easter egg, and players can grab it as early as round 3, so long as the RNG is kind to them. It’s time to grab a shovel and get to digging, as there’s a free Ray Gun in The Tomb that needs claiming.

Where to Find Dig Sites in The Tomb

To begin, players must first acquire a shovel. Shovels are not hard to find in The Tomb, and they can be noted by their white outline glow. There are a few spots to find a shovel in The Tomb, like by Quick Revive in the Deep Excavation, or even against walls within the spawn area of the Dig Site. Once a shovel has been acquired, players just need to get digging. The places that players can dig are noted by the dirt mounds with a few bones and skulls within them, as well as the prompt to dig that appears when players are standing next to it.

In order to get the free Ray Gun, players must dig up 3 Ancient Gems, which are glowing green rocks that have a small chance to appear after any dig spot. As such, it’s a good idea to know where all the dig sites are in The Tomb:

  • A few dig sites can be found around the Deep Excavation area, located in the East part of the map near Quick Revive.
  • More dig sites are found at the spawn area of the Dig Site, scattered around the mound.
  • Further dig sites can be found obscured in shadowy areas of the Shrine of the Hierophants, where Stamin-Up is located.

Dig sites will usually spawn after every round or two, so be sure to scour the small map in search of them. Players will need to locate 3 Ancient Gems and pick them up with the interact button, so it might take a few rounds until players are lucky enough to acquire what they need. Patience is a virtue with this step.

Where to Find the Free Ray Gun

Once players have acquired the three Ancient Gems, they can access the Tombs area which is found after the first door in the Roman Mausoleum area from the Dig Site, or by going up from the Shrine of the Hierophants. With the Tombs, head to the East corner of the map where they can find a mural wall of a bull, and to the left of the mural is a small statue of a bearded man. Interacting with the bearded man statue will place the three Ancient Gems, transferring their energy into orbs.

After placing the three Ancient Gems, two Doppelghasts will spawn. Players do not need to be alarmed, as, despite their green eyes, these Special Doppelghasts are easy to kill with the right guns. After their defeat, the Potts and Paints PT 5 Intel will drop, along with 1,100 Essence, and of course, the Ray Gun for players to equip.
