Arlo’s path in Tails Of Iron 2: Whiskers Of Winter featured a difficult set of challenges and painful losses as you toiled to unite your allies against the Darkwing menace. While you have encountered several challenging enemies during your journey thus far, they’re nothing compared to the gauntlet of bosses that awaits you on Mount Cauldron.

Tails Of Iron 2 Review – Tough-as-Tails Soulslike
Tails of Iron 2 is better than its predecessor in many respects, but a lot of its new ideas unfortunately fall flat.
However, every enemy you have defeated thus far provided a necessary insight into the weaknesses of the remaining bosses, allowing you to prepare and practice for what’s to come. Craft or purchase the best weapons and armor you can afford before embarking on this difficult final quest and remember the lessons you’ve learned along the way – you’ll need them.
How To Reach Mount Cauldron For The Final Battle
After you proved yourself in Finding Fellowship’s Trial By Combat, King Redgi and his army are on your side and ready to face the Darkwing menace.
With your clans united, it’s time to set a course for Mount Cauldron, but first you should rest in your room. Gather at your throne and unite your friends to set forth for battle, with the realities of a dangerous war setting in.
Before you head out, upgrade any weapons and armor you need for the difficult battles to come.
Go to the docks and fast travel to The Outskirts’ Highland View fast travel sign. Build the sign for two Wood Logs, two Stones, and six gold if you haven’t already.
Greet Redgi and Burtle, who are waiting for you in the center of their camp. Ride on the flying contraption which will land on Mount Cauldron – if you forgot to craft anything, now is your chance thanks to the conveniently placed smith outside the contraption.
Redgi will direct you and your allies to charge to the right where you’re greeted by the first sign of opposition forces.
Defeat the armored Bat Rider and the other bat enemies, then press forward.
Along the way, Arlo will pause for a clue and give you a heads-up on the boss coming up.
Equip your best poison and electric weapons to take the boss on.
Dispatch the undead enemies, then the necromancer who raised them. Run past the ballista and prepare for a fight with more Darkwing forces.
Defeat the Swordsman and archer, then the large Bat Brute (weak against electric), who descends onto the battlefield.
Charge into the newly opened castle gate and replenish your supplies beside the save point.
How To Defeat Smith Kazam
Step into the large room, and you’ll be face to face with Chef Kazam of the Great Bat Army. The chef is weak against poison and electric, so feel free to unload with Elementa attacks as well as the weapons you’ve equipped ahead of time.
The chef’s ground slam attack is easy to dodge, so wait for it to land to take your chance. Strike with ranged shots while the chef is in the air.
If you’re struggling, let Redgi draw the chef’s attention while you pelt it with Elementa and ranged shots.
Beware of the chef’s deadly knife toss, as they will disappear off-screen, then boomerang back into its hands.
Put your shield up to block them, as dodging requires perfect timing and a bit of luck. With careful blocking and counterattacking, the chef will be defeated.
Claim the Dull Scorcher Blade and Dull Scorcher Shield, then press on.
Progress to the next area and witness Count Kazak’s battle with Redgi, who is kidnapped.
Continue forward where Arlo will find more evidence tipping him off to the next enemy’s weakness – keep your poison and electric weapons equipped.
How To Defeat Smith Genza
Move forward where you’ll meet Smith Genza of the Great Bat Army, locked in battle with Rita, who falls.
Smith Genza will slam their hammer repeatedly as they charge – dodge behind them to avoid the bashing attack.
When the Smith raises their hammer, stay away from the red glow on the floor, where fire will erupt.
Continue dodging and counterattack only when Smith Genza completes an attack, as their recovery time is incredibly swift.
Close the gap while the floor erupts with fire, as the Smith is completely exposed during this attack.
Capitalize on Smith Genza’s long attack animation, and soon they will be defeated.
Interact with Rita, who is still alive, and claim the Dull TH Scorcher Spear and Dull Dark Wing Gun before continuing.
Where To Go After Defeating Smith Genza
Defeat the undead enemies and necromancer in the next room, then take the ladder up, jumping across the tops of the cages, then use the grapple point to reach an upper door.
If you miss the last jump, hit the jump button again to vault off the wall and back onto the cage, which will help you reach the higher ledge.
Rendezvous with Robin Of Longtail in the next hallway, then jump up another set of platforms to reach an upper level where you’ll need to dispatch a few lesser bats and another Swordsman.
Climb another set of ladders and have Arlo look left to spot the grapple point which you can use to reach the ledge that Robin is waiting on.
There are some grubs you can kill here to refill your potion.
Move into the next room and jump from the platform to the right ladder, then look left to use the grapple point to get to the left ladder, then jump across to the right side.
Replenish your supplies and save in the next room before advancing into the Throne Room.
How To Defeat Sky Scorcher Vangor
Here, you’ll meet the Undead Sky Scorcher Vangor, who shares the same electric and poison weakness as its predecessors. After Count Kazak flees, you’re left with Robin to face Vangor.
As soon as Vangor assembles and emerges, it is vulnerable, so attack it immediately and inflict some easy damage.
Dodge to avoid the dangerous breath attacks and charge toward Vangor during the telegraphed earthquake attacks, as the Sky Scorcher is vulnerable to damage during this attack, just like prior bosses.
Use your ranged attacks to keep the pressure on and soon the Sky Scorcher will be defeated.
Loot the Scorcher and claim the Dull Scorcher Axe, Dull TH Scorcher Sword, and Dull Scorcher Helmet before you head for the summit to find Redgi.
How To Reach Mount Cauldron’s Peak
In the next room, you’ll find a fast travel post which will let you teleport between this room and your camp – take advantage of your chance to buy or craft any gear before the final battle.
When you’re ready, take the elevator to Mount Cauldron’s Peak and refill your ammo and potion in the penultimate room.
How To Defeat Count Kazak
Watch as Count Kazak tosses Redgi over the edge, and prepare as Count Kazak Leader of the Great Bat Army and King atop the Mountains, charges at you.
Count Kazak is weak against poison and fire attacks, so swap weapons if needed before you begin fighting.
Count Kazak’s moveset is straightforward but aggressive, so prepare to dodge when you see red glows telegraphing his attacks.
When Kazak jumps into the sky, prepare for him to slam the ground directly below where he disappeared, then move in to strike once or twice if you anticipate his landing, as his sword will briefly be stuck in the ground for about two seconds.
When you deplete Count Kazak’s HP, do not relax or celebrate.
How To Beat Count Kazak’s Second Phase
When Kazak appears defeated, he will stab his sword into his chest and transition into a monstrous bat enemy and the battle music will quicken.
Try to stay behind him if you can, to avoid most attacks, or create distance so you’re out of range of his breath beam attack.
Stand back when the ground around Kazak glows, as he’ll summon lightning strikes that will do major damage.
Take advantage of the multiple strike attacks, signaled by the four glowing marks on the ground.
Like the previous bosses, the best counter here is getting in close to inflict a few free hits during the animation.
Once Kazak is low, run in close and prepare to finish him off, ending the battle and turning him into nothing more than bones.
Claim the Darkest Night Crown, Dull Scorcher Armour and Dull Scorcher Pauldron as your friends join you in mourning King Redgi.
What Rewards Do You Get From Fellowship Of The Wing?
You immediately teleport back to The Crimson Keep, where you can follow the procession back to the Crimson Fort.
Enter the throne room and watch the final scene play out; congratulations, Warden – or should we say, King Arlo.
Aside from completing the game, Fellowship of the Wing will officially conclude after the credits, giving you the following rewards:
- Three Gold Ingots
- Three Silver Ingots
- One Diamond
Stick around and pay attention to the post-credits scene, which will give you a taste of what the future may hold.
