That briefly changed with his own dedicated DLC for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and an infamously rewritten appearance in Captain Laserhawk, but things were fairly quiet after that for a time.

That all changed late last year when it was reported that Ubisoft was working on a Rayman remake, which was quickly confirmed to be the case by the studio itself. Rayman’s proper return is exciting enough, but that revelation was quickly followed by a rumour that suggested some more classic Rayman games are going to be revisited.
Rayman 3 Trademark Has Been Renewed By Ubisoft
The rumour in question came from Nintendo insider PH Brazil, who reported that Nintendo is asking third-party developers to release remasters for the Nintendo Switch while it focuses its attention on the now-revealed Switch 2. On that list of third-party titles was Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, which was seemingly going to be getting another port.
Considering the fact that a Rayman 3 port already exists in the form of Rayman 3 HD, that rumour wasn’t hard to believe and sparked some excitement that Ubisoft was making Ray’s catalogue a little easier to access. Things have just got more interesting, though, as several Rayman insiders have reported that Ubisoft has recently renewed the trademark for Rayman 3.
Yesterday, Twitter user RaymanTogether shared the news from CorkbenYT that Rayman 3’s trademark had been renewed by Ubisoft in September of 2024. The source of this information is the United States Trademark And Patent Office, which indeed shows that the trademark, which was originally filed in 2003, was renewed on September 12, 2024.
Trademarks typically need to be renewed every ten years, but Ubisoft didn’t bother to renew the ones for Rayman 2, adding a bit more fuel to the fire for Rayman 3’s return.
While it’s completely normal for companies to renew trademarks for games they own, it is a sign that the rumours of a new Rayman 3 remaster could be true. CorkbenYT points out that Beyond Good & Evil also had its trademark renewed before its HD release, which might indicate a similar treatment for Hoodlum Havoc.
For now, it’s still just a rumour and not worth getting your hopes up about too much, but it is one that now has a bit more evidence backing it up. We’ll have to wait and see what Ubisoft says about the whole thing in the near future.
