Life & Death is one of the most in depth expansions we’ve seen for The Sims 4, but as with everything in The Sims, there’s always room for customization. This is where the thriving modding community comes into play. As well as the regular range of mods there are some specific to expansions, and Life & Death is no exception.

The Sims 4: Life and Death – Best Ravenwood Rumors, Ranked
Rumor has it that these are the best Ravenwood rumors in The Sims 4!
Most of the mods on this list are quality-of-life changes that improve your overall Ravenwood experience, but you’ll also find a few that add some ghastly flavor to your game. These mods are simply worth dying for.

Ghastly Gavotte For All
- Creator: CubiertoDeFlores
- Available Through: Curseforge
The Ghastly Gavotte is a dance that macabre Sims can bust out whenever they hear their favorite tunes. Click on any dance floor or music source, and your Sims can move to the beat of their own spooky little drum. If you’ve ever been to a rock club, you get the general idea.
This mod lets all Sims try this dance, even if they don’t have the Macabre trait. To keep things somewhat special, non-macabre Sims can only dance the Ghastly Gavotte while listening to certain music genres. These include “spooky music”, “strange tunes”, and other genres with a more goth vibe.

Thanatology Skill Away Action
Creator sims4me has truly outdone themselves with the Away Action mod, which lets Sims who aren’t currently on the active lot improve their skills. Being able to passively increase your skill levels allows the entire household to succeed in life while still letting you go out on adventures with your Sims.
You’ll need the base Away Action mod for this add-on to do anything.
Life and Death added the Thanatology skill, which enables Sims to better reap (pun intended) the benefits of the DLC while succeeding in the Reaper career. With this mod, Mom won’t have to worry about lagging behind on reaper business just because you decided to spend the day with Bobby at high school.

Disable Macabre Trait Pose
In real life, people with a little extra darkness in their hearts don’t actually pose like macabre Sims do in their portraits. Your Sim, on the other hand, just looks bored, which is even more strange if they happen to also have traits like Goofball or Party Animal.
Macabre Sims are a lot of fun to play, and they deserve more respect than their default pose affords them. This mod gets rid of the annoyed-looking arm cross and replaces it with the same variety of poses that are open to all other Sims. Now your Sims can actually smile in their family portraits.

No Auto Think About Heirloom Owner
Grandma might have left behind a beautiful tea set when she passed away, and you might be prompted to think about her sometimes while going about your day. That doesn’t mean you feel compelled to drop what you’re doing and think about your grandma every time you walk past that tea set.
This is a simple quality-of-life mod that will stop Sims from autonomously thinking about the original owners of heirlooms when in their presence. Now you can queue up your Sims’ tasks without worrying about a bladder failure because they thought about their uncle’s tarot deck for too long.
6
Grim Smoke Trail For Grimborn
Grimborn in The Sims 4 can be a little underwhelming. They get a few buffs, such as a longer lifespan and more proficiency at reaping, but they don’t have as much flavor as one might hope. Trying for Baby with the Grim Reaper should merit a cooler reward.
While this mod doesn’t give your grimborn Sims any new powers, it does give them a cool smoke trail that looks just like their dad’s. It makes the grimborn actually feel like the spooky supernatural beings they truly are, and it’s great for adding more flavor to your save file.
5
WFUN Funeral Radio
Grandma might have loved house music, but what’s great for the club might not be the best musical choice for Grandma’s funeral. Unless the deceased had some very specific wishes, you’re probably going to want something traditional, soothing, and not too complicated.

The Sims 4: Every World, Ranked
From Willow Creek to Henford-On-Bagley and everything in between. This is our ranking of every world in The Sims 4.
WFUN is a custom radio station that provides royalty-free music for any funeral home. Now you won’t have to agonize over whether “Classical” or “Baroque” is a better fit when neither are exactly what you’re looking for. Sure, it’ll be weird if your Sims start dancing to this stuff, but at least the vibes will be perfect before that inevitably happens.
4
Slower Soul’s Journey Progression
Some players might feel that the Soul’s Journey feature is a little too easy. A Sim might want to meet the love of their life, create their magnum opus, or make important progress in their career, but these huge milestones are put on the same list as “eating a lot of food”.
This mod lowers the number of tasks your Sims have to complete for their bucket lists or unfinished business. However, the tasks that do appear are the ones that are typically far harder to complete. If you want your soul’s journey to feel more meaningful, this is definitely the mod for you.
3
More Heirlooms
It’s pretty easy for Sims to accumulate plenty of knickknacks, collectibles, and fancy pieces of furniture throughout their lives. Unfortunately, Sims can only declare five objects to be family heirlooms at any time in an unmodded game. If they have the Materialistic trait, this doubles to ten, but it’s still a little disappointing.
This is a simple mod that increases the number of heirlooms a Sim can have. Most Sims can have up to 15 heirlooms, but Sims with the Materialistic trait can have up to 30. This is perfect for legacy challenges and other long-running save files, where a family might have multiple generations looking to pass on possessions.
2
More Funeral Guests
Funerals in The Sims 4 tend to be intimate affairs, with only eight guests able to attend at any time. This isn’t ideal for Sims who have large families or social circles, nor is it particularly realistic. It’s even more jarring when you remember that most other event types in the game allow up to 15 guests.
Luckily, sims4me has a solution to this problem. This mod allows you to invite up to 19 guests to your Sims’ funerals, allowing for most close family and friends to attend. Now Grandma can pass on with all fifteen of her grandchildren around to say goodbye.

Seasons In Ravenwood
- Creator: CBXSims
- Available Through: Patreon
Certain worlds in The Sims 4 are coded to have a more realistic climate than the stereotypical seasons that come with the Seasons DLC. This makes sense for the ski resort of Mt. Komorebi and the tropical paradise of Sulani, but Ravenwood was kept in a state of perpetual autumn in order to preserve its spooky vibes.
That’s all well and good if all you care about is atmosphere, but it’s not very realistic. Transylvania, the region Ravenwood was based on, is a temperate zone. This mod brings springtime, summer, and snowy days to Ravenwood, making for a more vibrant experience.
