With an emphasis on Tera types, all the Eevee evolutions have fancy new designs, tons of incredible attacks and powers, and plenty of very pretty cards to collect. If you’re on the hunt for the basis of a new deck, you can’t go wrong with any of these ex Pokemon.

Vaporeon ex

A Powerful Attack On An Adorable Body

The Pokemon TCG card Vaporeon ex by 5ban Graphics.

One of the original trio of Eevee evolutions, Vaporeon ex is a solid attacker that gives you some versatility with your attacks. Its first attack, Severe Squall, is a two-Energy attack that dishes out 60 damage to each of your opponent’s ex Pokemon.

While not the strongest, it does have a lot of potential depending on if you’re able to set up Vaporeon ex quickly. You can then follow up with its Aquamarine attack, dealing a whopping 280 damage in a single blow, which is enough damage to take out plenty of ex Pokemon in a single shot.

Umbreon ex

Comes In In A Pinch

The Pokemon TCG card Umbreon ex by takuyoa.

Umbreon ex might have two three-Energy attacks, which might not be ideal for an attacker, but its second attack is so strong that it is definitely worth the investment. The first attack, Moon Mirage, deals a respectable 160 damage while leaving your opponent’s active Pokemon confused.

Onyx is where the real power is though. This attack takes one Electric, Psychic, and one Darkness Energy, which can be difficult to set up without some assistance. However, you get to take one Prize card of your choice directly when you use the attack.

Sure, you have to discard all that Energy from Umbreon ex, but the trade-off can be substantial, especially if you find yourself in a situation where you need to take just one Prize but can’t Knock Out an opponent’s Pokemon.

Eevee ex

Live Up To Every Potential

Eevee has just one attack but that’s not the real reason why you’re running it. Its incredibly powerful Ability, Rainbow DNA, gives you all sorts of potential and options depending on how you want your deck to do. With Rainbow DNA, Eevee can still evolve even though it’s an ex Pokemon.

Normally, if you have an ex Pokemon, there are no further evolutions available to it, regardless of whether it is a Basic Pokemon or not.

That means all the cool Eevee evolutions that come in Prismatic Evolutions are able to evolve off of both this ex Eevee, and the regular basic one that is in the set.

Teal Mask Ogerpon ex

Card Draw And A Beatdown

The Pokemon TCG card Teal Mask Ogerpon ex by 5ban Graphics.

This unique Pokemon ex card has the potential to be a nice little card draw and Energy sink for any Grass-based deck. With its Teal Dance ability, you can take a basic Grass Energy card from your hand and slap it on this Ogerpon ex. Doing so lets you draw a card, though you can only do it once per turn.

Once you have a healthy amount of energy on it, you can go on the offensive with its Myriad Leaf Shower attack. A wordy little attack that deals 30 damage at its base level, then an extra 30 damage for each Energy attached to both Active Pokemon. Realistically, you’re dealing at least 120 damage once you have three Grass Energy attached to Ogerpon, with the damage scaling the more Energies you attach.

3

Flareon ex

A Perfect Energy Accelerant

The Pokemon TCG card Flareon ex by 5ban Graphics.

Getting your Pokemon powered up is an absolute necessity in any match, and with Flareon ex, you can get practically anything ready to strike on your next turn. Burning Charge is the key attack here, costing just one Fire Energy and one Colorless one. Once used, you both deal a solid 130 damage, and then you get to look for up to two Basic Energy from your deck and snap both of them to one of your Pokemon.

Suppose you choose to power up Flareon ex. In that case, you can burn your opponent’s Active Pokemon out with Carnelian, dealing a significant 280 points of damage for one Fire, Water, and Electric Energy. Like Vaporeon ex, Flareon ex can take out plenty of other ex Pokemon with a single attack.

2

Sylveon ex

Mess With Your Opponent’s Day

The Pokemon TCG card Sylveon ex by 5ban Graphics.

The first Psychic Eevee evolution to join this list, Sylveon ex is a fascinating attacker that can either completely disrupt your opponent’s game plan, or take them out of the game entirely. Magical Charm is Sylveon ex’s first attack, and it is a fine way to set up the next turn. You get 160 damage and on your opponent’s next turn, all attacks done by the defending Pokemon deal 100 damage less.

Make the most of using these cards while you can.

This gives you the perfect cushion to set up for Sylveon ex’s Angelite attack. Costing one Water, Electric, and Psychic Energy, Angelite lets you take two of your Opponent’s benched Pokemon and forces your opponent to shuffle them and any cards attached to them back into your opponent’s library.

You don’t get prize cards from the attack, but under plenty of conditions, this can leave your opponent with just an Active Pokemon in play.

1

Espeon ex

Watch, And Be Amazed

The Pokemon TCG card Espeon ex by 5ban Graphics.

Plenty of Eevee evolution cards in the set have unique attacks and quirky abilities, and Espeon ex quite possibly has the best. With its Amazez attack, Espeon ex can utterly destroy any of your opponent’s strategies in a single attack.

For one Grass, Psychic, and Darkness Energy, you forcibly devolve each of your opponent’s evolved Pokemon, if they have one available. So any Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokemon they have out, that highest evolution gets tucked into your opponent’s deck.
