WWE 2K25’s MyGM Mode Features Long-Requested Improvement

WWE 2K25's MyGM Mode Features Long-Requested Improvement

WWE 2K25‘s MyGM Mode will feature cross-brand Premium Live Events, among other improvements. While this may sound like a simplistic feature, its absence in WWE 2K22, WWE 2K23, and WWE 2K24 has made PLEs feel less like the premium live event that they are and more like just another week in MyGM Mode. Full details have yet to be revealed, but this feature should go a long way in further immersing players in their general manager fantasies.

Because WWE 2K is an annualized franchise, players know evolutions tend to be incremental. WWE 2K25, at least on the surface, does not appear to be that. There are standard game mode changes like the new Bloodline Showcase, but it seems like WWE 2K25 is introducing brand new game modes like The Island while paying no less attention to features like Universe, MyRise, and MyGM Mode. Fans will know for sure once WWE 2K25 releases on March 14 (March 7 for Special Editions), but it’s incredibly promising.

WWE 2K25 Finally Features Cross-Brand PLEs in MyGM Mode

WWE PLEs are often heavily focused on wrestling and resolving storylines, and less on developing storylines (outside the ring at least). One promo segment or a quick backstage event isn’t necessarily uncommon. Still, there’s a huge difference between the presentation of a PLE and the presentation of weekly shows like Raw and SmackDown. Unfortunately, past versions of MyGM Mode did not capture this difference.

In practice, the only difference between a PLE and a standard week in WWE 2K24‘s MyGM Mode is an extra match and promo slot. The introduction of cross-brand PLEs in WWE 2K25 likely means matches like the Royal Rumble, MITB, Elimination Chamber, and cross-brand WrestleMania matches are all on the table. It remains to be seen how this works, but it’s a step in the right direction for making PLEs special in MyGM.

It’ll also be interesting to see how WWE 2K25 approaches promos during these and all PLES, as well as any other possible improvements. For example, Visual Concepts has announced that players can now compete in online multiplayer with up to four players for WWE 2K25‘s MyGM mode. It could be that these are the extent of the improvements, but it’s exciting nonetheless to finally have events like the Royal Rumble possibly integrated into MyGM Mode.

For now, fans will simply have to wait and see what 2K and Visual Concepts reveal for WWE 2K25. The Deadman and Bloodline Editions release on March 7, while the standard edition releases on March 14, meaning there’s a little over a month until release. As such, fans can expect the relatively slow news cycle period so far to pick up fervently over the next couple of weeks. There’s little doubt that Superstar Ratings will be a major talking point ahead of release, as it always is, but it’ll be interesting to see how the other game modes in action as well.
