WWE 2K25 Reveals Release Date, Bloodline Showcase, and More

WWE 2K25 Reveals Release Date, Bloodline Showcase, and More
Views: 0

WWE 2K25 is coming out of the gate swinging, featuring a plethora of new features and upgrades that are atypical of an annualized franchise. It’s impossible to summarize, but WWE 2K25 players will be able to enjoy a Bloodline Showcase, new match types and gameplay features, a new feature called The Island (of Relevancy, of course), and a plethora of upgrades across all of its game modes.

Fittingly, gracing the cover of WWE 2K25‘s Standard Edition is the Original Tribal Chief Roman Reigns, while it features two other special editions. The Undertaker graces the Deadman Edition, while several members of the Bloodline appear in the Bloodline Edition (Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Paul Heyman, Sami Zayn, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa). The Deadman and Bloodline Editions will be released on March 7, with the Standard Edition being available a week later on March 14. Discussing his status as the main cover star but also the focus on his family in WWE 2K25, Roman Reigns said,

“I am personally and professionally excited that the Original and Only Tribal Chief and the extended Anoa’i family are the focus of WWE 2K25. We’ve been building toward this moment for generations and I challenge players everywhere to show me and my Wiseman, Paul Heyman, what they’ve got, and prove they’re worthy of the attention of their Tribal Chief.”

2K Showcase: The Bloodline’s Dynasty

Narrated by The Wiseman Paul Heyman, WWE 2K25‘s Showcase will focus on The Bloodline and the extended Anoa’i family. It will feature modern members of the Bloodline/family, such as Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu, as well as legendary figures like The Rock and Yokozuna. Not only will players be able to relive their most iconic matches, but there is a “what if” element to the showcase that lets players change the outcome of match-ups. 2K describes this “what if” element as a way to settle fan debates, start fresh feuds, and feature a surprise or two. In other words, it sounds like there’s a “what if” scenario where The Rock potentially faces off with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 instead of Cody Rhodes, although that is not confirmed at this time.

New Match Types and Gameplay Improvement

WWE 2K25‘s New Match Types include the following:

  • Bloodline Rules Match Type
  • Intergender Match Types
  • Chain Wrestling’s return
  • New Barricade Diving
  • A roster of 300 Superstars
  • Third-person camera support in online matches (as well as the ability for each player to have their own camera)

WWE 2K25’s New Feature: The Island

WWE 2K25 The Island Roman

Only available for PS5 and Xbox/Series X/S players, WWE 2K25 will introduce The Island. It is an interactive, online WWE-themed shared world that provides an immersive experience, and while it is online, players can complete this as a single-player experience if they so wish. The ultimate goal of the island is to earn your place at the table, earning a WWE contract and impressing Roman Reigns. Players do so by completing quests, taking on challenges, competing in events, earning unlockables, and upgrading/customizing custom superstars through story chapters.

MyGM Mode Improvements

  • Online multiplayer for up to four players
  • A Bigger selection of GMs

MyRise’s New Storyline

Whereas past WWE 2K MyRise game modes featured two separate storylines for a male or female custom Superstar, WWE 2K25 features a single multi-gender storyline. In it, Bayley, Kevin Owens, and other Superstars invade NXT and attempt to take control of the entire WWE. WWE 2K25‘s MyRise campaign promises new personality choices that lead to bespoke storylines and include various possible allies such as Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins, and many more.

WWE 2K

WWE video games have always been popular, as the over-the-top action of pro wrestling makes for great gaming fun, especially with friends.

2K Sports began publishing WWE games in 2013 and have taken the series down a more serious, simulation-style route. The franchise looked to be dead and buried after the disastrous WWE 2K20, though it seems to have found its feet again.
