For a while, Synduality: Echo of Ada is a multiplayer experience, one you can’t turn off. That said, the game isn’t devoid of single-player, solo content. It’s just a bit more hidden than you might have expected.

Synduality: Echo Of Ada – 9 Beginner Tips
Synduality is a game that doesn’t hold your hand. These are the things to know before you get started.
The CIC missions offer you a custom mech built for the mission, as well as customising your Magus to better fit the mission. They task you with gathering up surveillance logs that document the fall of Amasia. It removes the risk, though doesn’t offer many rewards either. The Investigation Squad Base is the first you’ll encounter.
How To Unlock The Investigation Squad Base Mission
With the Investigation Squad Base being the first CIC mission you are offered, it stands to reason that it would be relatively easy to start you off. Not quite. Synduality never quite leaves up on you in terms of difficulty.
You don’t have to worry about losing anything though, so you can be a bit more reckless during this one. You can retry it as many times as you want to if you die or miss any surveillance logs on your first run.
There are no special requirements to unlocking the mission either. After you complete enough Requests to unlock the CIC missions (which will be before you unlock the Southern Zone), this first one will come with it, and only this one. You need to finish a mission before the next one unlocks.
Where To Find Every Surveillance Log
In the Investigation Squad Base mission, there are a total of five surveillance logs to acquire. Only one of them is necessary to actually finish the mission, though you should try to gather them all up to avoid you having to play through the mission again later. Here’s each of them.
Surveillance Log #1
Just before entering the first military base-looking area, take the left towards the overgrown city sections, and then take the left again to reach a yellow lift. Atop here, the surveillance log will be on the defeated Cradlecoffin.
Surveillance Log #2
After leaving the overgrown city section, proceed to the left until you reach a shallow lake. Defeat the bandit here and proceed to the defeated Cradlecoffin further in to find the next surveillance log on it.
Surveillance Log #3
Return now to the large base area, and defeat all the bandits inside. After this, head to the south-east corner of the area to find a yellow circle your Magus can investigate. This is the third surveillance log.
Your Magus will be unavailable to support you while they’re away, so absolutely make sure all the bandits are defeated first.
Surveillance Log #4
When reaching the broken bridge outside of the previous area, head to the left and all the wall to the bottom. Excavate through two walls to find another defeated Cradlecoffin holding the fourth surveillance log.
Surveillance Log #5
This is the final surveillance log, and the only required one for the mission. After defeating all the bandits in the final base, the doors will open to allow you to reach this one. Allow your Magus to investigate and the mission will end after they are picked back up.
Critical Path Through The Mission
Aside from picking up the surveillance logs, this mission isn’t always simple. The bandits here deal much less damage than those in sorties, but death will still require you to restart the mission, and you aren’t given many Repair Kits at the beginning of the mission, you you still have to keep your wits about you.
When the mission starts, you’ll be confronted by a few Enders in the wooded area. When you come across the first green-rarity weapon, this is also where Bandits will start appearing. They are fought much the same as in sorties, so handle them the same way. They take more damage from Ballistic weapons, though Energy weapons work great too.
It’s best to run this mission with two weapons with different ammo types as extra ammunition can be in short supply during these missions.
As you advance, you will start to encounter more enemies. Make sure to swap the shoulder you aim over to catch enemies when they’re peeking slightly out of cover. Anything above the height of your own Cradlecoffin is enough to safeguard you, so pop out when enemies are reloading to fill then with lead. Try to avoid ever using melee, as it’s much too risky for the minimal damage it deals.
The first base you enter will be swarming with enemies, though it has plenty of cover for you. Just take your time, and try to get any enemies from behind that you can for increased damage. Proceed forward here until you meet a ruined bridge.
To the left will be the way forward, while the right has some extra weapons and ammo. Take the left, and climb up through the debris to reach the base. You must climb around the boxes and beams here to jump over a wall, landing you inside the base. Take care to pick up all the weapons and ammo laid out here before you enter.
Once you enter the base through the door, it will lock behind you and the enemies will be made aware of your presence. As before, take your time and try to shoot from the safety of cover where possible. Burst Mines are a lot of help here to damage enemies that try to get too close to you, so place them around chokepoints, like the upper walkway.
After all these enemies are defeated, all the doors will open once again, including the ones leading towards the final surveillance log. You don’t get to keep anything you pick up during this mission, so head straight towards the interior to finish off the mission.
If there are any surveillance logs you missed, you can replay the mission to pick them up again. Any you’ve already acquired will not be present in the map.
