The Fated Clash Of Shanks And Shamrock — The Battle Of the Brothers
- Shanks and Shamrock Are Twins
- Shamrock Is The Older Brother
Shanks are Shamrock are twins, which is quite clear by simply looking at them. They look identical, and it is clear that they were born from the same parents. Given that One Piece chapter 1137 already confirmed to the fans that Garling Figarland is the father of Shamrock Figarland, it is no surprise to know that Shanks is the son of Garling as well.
As for the manga, we’ve finally arrived in Elbaf! It’s a laid-back kingdom, but the serenity is about to be shattered by the arrival of a particular man! Meanwhile, there will be tumult in other seas as well! And at last, that one guy will begin shaking up the world! Take a deep breath now, because soon you may not be able to come up for air! Please look forward to a SUUUUUUPER year of One Piece in 2025! – Eiichiro Oda
As to who is the older one of the two, the answer is likely Shamrock. This is simple because Shamrock is a villain and someone who needs to be portrayed as a massive threat even to Shanks. If he’s younger, it wouldn’t quite portray the same image, and because of this reason, Oda might decide to make him the older sibling. Shamrock and Shanks were raised quite differently. As is clear, they two were very young when the God Valley Incident happened, but definitely present on the island. On that day, Shanks was accidentally carried alongside loot by Scopper Gaban and he ended up on the ship of the Roger Pirates. Roger himself became like a father figure to Shanks, which just goes to explain why Shanks fights like Roger.
Meanwhile, Shamrock was left behind with the Celestial Dragons, meaning he was raised by none other than Garling Figarland. Shamrock was taught to be strong, and command respect. As a military man and a leader of a Knightly order, Shamrock has a standard to maintain, so he’s definitely the most powerful of them all. However, Shamrock most certainly doesn’t have the freedom that Shanks does.
Change of plans. Let’s contact Marijoa! — Shamrock Figarland
Still, it is incredibly exciting to see that these two characters have now officially entered the story and fans will most definitely find out more information about them as the Elbaf arc of One Piece continues. In Elbaf, Shamrock is the main villain, which means that unless he pulls back, he will be defeated here, or the Straw Hat Pirates will go on to lose Elbaf. Either way, Shamrock will have a bigger role than just Elbaf and eventually, he could even come across his brother in combat.
Shanks’s Haki Vs Shamrock’s Haki
Shanks’s Haki Is Likely To Be Superior
It would be a missed opportunity for Oda to not have Shamrock and Shanks meet and engage in combat, but regardless of whether or not that will happen in One Piece, fans know that they can still be compared. When it comes to Devil Fruit powers, it is likely that Shanks has none, and in that case, Shamrock is likely to hold the biggest advantage. After all, most strong Government officials have powerful abilities, and Shamrock isn’t going to be an exception. He has likely a powerful Devil ability, or his sword possesses one.
Are you that afraid of the new era? — Shanks
Shanks, on the other hand, appears to be a user of Haki, primarily. In fact, he possesses the strongest Haki in One Piece right now, by far. What fans know for sure is that Shanks’s Haki can be compared to Joy Boy’s, as was seen in Egghead, where Dorry and Brogy both started wondering which Haki was stronger between the two. At the same time, both Shanks and Joy Boy are known to have Haki strong enough to knock out Vice Admirals, which suggests that they’re on a different level of strength in comparison.

Shamrock’s Haki is sure to be very strong, and it is a guarantee that he has all three types of it. However, he will most definitely not have Haki as strong as that of Shanks. Shamrock’s Haki should be somewhere along the same level as that of Kaido or Luffy, because otherwise, Shamrock would be far stronger than Shanks and quite possibly the strongest character in all of One Piece.
Who Is The Stronger Red-Haired in One Piece?
Shanks Could Be Superior In Strength To Shamrock
It is difficult to say who the stronger of the two brothers is, especially when the full power of either of the two remains to be seen. But, given that Shanks is a more important character who was directly connected to Roger, the Pirate King, and was said to be Roger’s own apprentice and the next Pirate King, chances are that Shanks is the stronger of the two. Another indicator of the fact that Shanks is stronger is the fact that Luffy is fighting Shamrock first. Usually, the one who is beaten first in combat is weaker. It would be rather bizarre for Luffy to fight Shamrock first and Shanks later, only to find out that Shanks is actually weaker. The proper plot progression here would be for Shanks to be revealed to be stronger, as that would make more sense.
Of course, it goes without saying that Shamrock and Shanks are both very powerful, and while Shanks might hold the upper hand overall, it is highly likely that they’re very close to each other in terms of power level, and that Shamrock is going to be more than just a challenge for Luffy when the two face-off later on in the Elbaf arc. Fans should be incredibly excited to see Shanks and Shamrock at the center of some important plot points, and it is only a matter of time before their character are fleshed out further.
