Could The Scream 7 Ghostface Be Connected To Cotton Weary? Here’s Why I Like This Idea
Cotton Weary is one of the most complex characters in the Scream franchise, and I like this Scream 7 fan theory that involves him.
As Deadline noted, there are no details available about which character Consuelos will portray in Scream 7. He joins several high-profile cast members such as Pitch Perfect star Anna Camp, Community star Joel McHale, and Mckenna Grace, who has acted in a variety of movies including Annabelle Comes Home, the two recent Ghostbusters sequels, and Malignant. As fans assume every time there is an exciting new cast announcement, it’s a mystery whether Consuelos will portray an evil or good character. It’s also interesting to note that the cast of Scream 7 is fairly large and includes a handful of legacy actors along with new people. Although it seemed like Scream 6 might have too many cast members, it ultimately worked in the movie’s favor since it was hard to guess who Ghostface could be.
Consuelos may not have appeared in a lot of horror projects, but he enjoyed starring in American Horror Story season 2. In 2012, he told Entertainment Weekly:
“I’ve done some theater and played some dark characters and have always had a good time. But in this business, [you don’t always] get the opportunity to do it.”
He also said, “Any time you get a chance to do something different or get away from your appearance or get away from what people are used to seeing, I think it’s always good.” It sounds like he enjoys taking on various acting roles, and Scream fans should watch his impressive performance in the popular Ryan Murphy horror anthology to prepare for the slasher sequel.
While Consuelos has appeared in several recent TV series, he hasn’t appeared in a movie for a decade. He played Ian Cox in the 2016 fantasy comedy movie Nine Lives. He also starred in the 2016 drama All We Had, which Katie Holmes starred in and also directed.
Fans can find out whether Consuelos plays a good guy or a villain (or even one of many Ghostfaces) in Scream 7, which will arrive in theaters on February 27th, 2026.
