If you’ve stepped away from Enshrouded, waiting for the perfect time to jump back into the survival game, this is it. Developer Keen Games has just released Enshrouded’s fifth big update, which is filled with new content and ways to communicate with other players. But that’s not all, as we’ve got our first look at the game’s 2025 roadmap and an update on when we can expect the full 1.0 launch.
Out today, Pact of the Flame is the fifth major content update for Enshrouded. It’s bursting with more to do, but the focus is on improving your communication with other players. You now have in-game text chat in multiplayer sessions, and the ability to use an emote wheel to express your feelings without words. Keen Games has also added voice chat to the survival game, if you want to speak with others directly. You can choose between global, server-wide, or proximity voice chat, and even use a brand-new social menu as well.
This isn’t all Keen Games has added to Enshrouded with Pact of the Flame. Now you can utilize a first-person camera mode while building, immersing you into the experience even further and giving you greater control over how you place structures. Enshrouded also has more than 70 new items in the form of props, cosmetics, and materials for you to use. There are also new quests for vanity items, which include a Serpent Warrior set, just in time for the lunar year.
Keen Games isn’t slowing down now that Pact of the Flame is here, however, as it details what we can expect from the Enshrouded 2025 early access roadmap. The game’s second year in early access will feature an all-new event system where you’ll jump through portals to new “thematic and exciting worlds,” according to Keen Games. There are also going to be base raids on separate islands, additional weather events, and a new biome focused on “dynamic weather.” At some point in 2025, you’ll also gain the ability to teleport to other servers, and to share your worlds and builds with the community.
2025 is already looking like a huge year for Enshrouded, and the new Pact of the Flame update is starting it with a bang. The 2024 hit keeps going from strength to strength, and I for one can’t wait to see what Keen Games does to make this year yet another big one for the survival genre.
Enshrouded’s fifth content update, Pact of the Flame, is out now. Keen Games has also detailed the rest of 2025’s early access roadmap, and confirms that the 1.0 release is scheduled for spring 2026 on both PC and consoles.
