The ability for OLED panels to have individual pixels go completely black also means they have effectively infinite contrast, which makes for an incredible amount of depth to images. We find most OLED screens of this size and resolution aren’t great for producing really sharp text – LCDs are better – so this wouldn’t be our first choice for working all day, but for occasional work use (or if your job isn’t reading and writing all day like ours) then it’s a decent option.
Freesync is onboard too to eliminate screen tear and stuttering on AMD GPUs. In our experience, this is likely to also work with Nvidia GPUs too – as G-Sync – but the display isn’t officially rated as G-Sync compatible so there’s no guarantee.
