- King Kadan’s arrival turns the tide as Goku defeats Gomah’s main army, leaving the Gendarmerie Force as his last option.
Dragon Ball DAIMA has finally brought Goku and company to the First Demon World, but it wasn’t exactly the smoothest arrival. Supreme Demon King Gomah’s army immediately spotted them descending from the sky and have already unleashed a full-on assault. With all three Demon Realm Dragon Balls now closer to each other than ever before, the potential for a huge shift in power is only growing in Episode 15, “Third Eye”. The Gendarmerie Force, Majin Kuu, and Majin Duu all loom on the horizon as Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo try to fight their group to safety in Dragon Ball DAIMA.
After a freshly miniaturized Goku reached the Third Demon World, the new goal quickly became obtaining all three Demon Realm Dragon Balls. While many doubted he’d be able to defeat the powerful Tamagami that protect them, even a weakened childlike Goku made quick work of Tamagami Number Three. Vegeta knocked off the next one in the Second Demon World, but they’ve now arrived in the First Demon World with a plan based on outdated information. Dr. Arinsu has already claimed the One-Star Demon Realm Dragon Ball for herself, and Glorio is primed to seize the others when the moment is right.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Finds The Third Eye and Explains Demon King Succession
Any hopes of a stealth approach can be thrown out the window, as Gomah’s Gendarmerie troops spot Earth’s heroes before they even reach the surface of the First Demon World. While Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Glorio have dealt with the Gendarmerie before, they’ve essentially chosen to enter via the hornets’ nest. Unfortunately, they’re also in a rare situation where a massive army actually has weapons that can hurt them. The entire assault feels reminiscent of Goku taking on the Red Ribbon Army in the original Dragon Ball series, but most of their weapons were basically useless against a Saiyan.
As soon as one of the Gendarmerie soldiers manages to hit Goku with a laser gun, he immediately goes down. The impact seems to electrocute and temporarily paralyze Goku, but he’s able to fight through and use his Power Pole to take out one of the nearby planes. Vegeta, growing increasingly frustrated that they’re being forced to run, starts firing blasts at their pursuers only to be shot multiple times. Temporarily disabled by the shots, Vegeta reluctantly takes a Revive Bug from Goku as they try to take cover and regroup.
Supreme Demon King Gomah is watching as this all goes down, and he suddenly focuses on Hybis. The Third Eye, which Gomah had previously lamented should’ve been his first wish to Shenron, appears embedded in Hybis’s belt. Bulma initially noticed the eye on his belt could move in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 9, “Thieves”, and Hybis just said he’d “found a living eye in the mountains a long time ago” that is now on his belt.
With Gomah certain he is recognizing The Third Eye that was once on Supreme Demon King Abura, Dragon Ball DAIMA backs out of the action for a narrator-led lore drop. The Third Eye, also known as the Tertian Oculus, was worn by previous Demon Kings to imbue them with magic and the ability to wield unworldly power. Dabura himself orchestrated a plot to steal it from Abura which initially succeeded, but the thief was attacked after reaching the Third Demon World.
The Third Eye, also known as the Tertian Oculus, was worn by previous Demon Kings to imbue them with magic and the ability to wield unworldly power.
The Third Eye was knocked away and effectively lost, but simply taking that power away from Abura was enough for Dabura to seize the throne and become the new Supreme Demon King with Gomah as his Vice-Supreme Demon King. Many years later, Hybis happened upon it and wedged the Tertian Oculus into his belt with no knowledge of what he actually possessed. Without the Third Eye, Dabura eventually succumbed to Babidi, was defeated by Majin Buu, and left a power vacuum that Gomah was more than happy to fill.
Now, Gomah has ordered Degesu to discreetly get The Third Eye from Hybis without revealing what it is. As Goku and friends seek cover and try to come up with a new plan for fending off the Gendarmerie, Hybis is approached by a seemingly random woman in the village. Her first attempt at offering a kiss for the belt is strongly rejected, but Hybis immediately says he’ll trade the belt for her large yellow hat. While it isn’t confirmed, it does appear she was sent by Degesu and has now obtained The Third Eye for Gomah.
Vegeta, Piccolo, and Goku finally push for another assault on the army as tanks show up and shoot electrified laser bombs that take down and immobilize all three of them. All hope seems lost as another blast is charged up, but bombs start falling from the sky. One tank explodes, and everyone looks to the sky as Panzy realizes her father has come to the rescue. King Kadan and his soldiers continue dropping bombs from their plane, but the final tank gets a last-second shot off. Their plane explodes, but King Kadan and his fighters all land safely. With backup to turn the tide, Super Saiyan Goku unleashes several blasts that wipe out the rest of Gomah’s main army. The Gendarmerie Force, and potentially the Third Eye, are all Supreme Demon King Gomah has left when the dust settles in Episode 15. Between the unpredictable Neva and double agent Glorio carrying on Dr. Arinsu’s plot, anything could happen when the journey continues on Dragon Ball DAIMA.
