In Week 3 of the LCK Cup 2025 group stage, DNF faces KT in their last match. Will they manage to take the win and lock a spot in the play-in stage? Let’s find out in our weekly match preview.
DNF vs KT – LCK Cup 2025 Preview
After a decent start to their LCK season by defeating Nongshim, DN Freecs have been struggling to get wins and are now on the back foot. They are fourth in the losing Baron Group and might potentially face elimination if FearX were to win their last match and face one another in a potential tiebreaker.
With this in mind, the series against KT Rolster is extremely important for DNF, who are also looking to bounce back from their week 2 underperformance. The team has looked lost in a large majority of the games, with only Berserker holding his own.
We also saw the team bringing in the academy player Pungyeon, which further raises questions about the team’s potential heading into the last week. While the player didn’t have any particular poor moments, he wasn’t able to bring anything more than what BuLLDoG offered.
Series Breakdown
KT Rolster, on the other hand, comes from a positive week 2 performance. They defeated BRO and went toe-to-toe with T1. They maintain expectations, defeating teams ranked lower than them but losing to the top teams like T1 and HLE.
Bdd and Cuzz have looked strong so far and PerfecT has been steadily improving as a solid top laner who can hold his own. KT’s main weakness might be in the bottom lane, which doesn’t offer the same firepower as other teams, especially when it comes to 2v2 laning.
The bot lane might be the determining factor for the series. While I think the top side of KT is stronger, DNF’s opportunity will likely come from Berserker’s ability to get ahead. If KT is able to shut him down, then it might be a swift 2-0 series. Otherwise, we might have a close series on our hands. Regardless, KT is in favor of taking the series.
