Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Does What-If Battles Better Than Xenoverse

Xenoverse is all about alternate scenarios, but Sparking Zero’s what-if battles are all far more interesting and surprising.

Ahead of the release of 11 new characters, Bandai Namco announced a long-awaited and arguably much-needed patch for the base game. Among the number of Game Mode and Battle System Adjustments is a number of Skill Adjustments for the game’s massive roster. Chief among those changes is an update to Super Saiyan 4 Goku that should make him a more viable option, particularly online.

SSJ4 Goku Is No Longer A Meme

For the uninitiated, Super Saiyan 4 Goku has an ability named “All I Need Is Five Seconds!” It’s a riff on his iconic line in Dragon Ball GT, and as cool as its name is, the ability was basically useless in practice, essentially becoming a meme for how ineffective it is.

At one point, Sparking Zero fans called it the “most useless” ability in the entire game. However, via Monday’s patch, things have taken a change for the better.

Per the patch notes, “All I Need Is Five Seconds!” has been updated to restore Goku’s Ki entirely. That’s a pretty significant upgrade, one that should have players immediately flocking to have Super Saiyan 4 Goku in their rotation.

“From the most useless ability to straight up one of the most broken (abilities) in the game. What a comeback,” one user wrote in response to the upgrade. “My GOAT is becoming more of a GOAT,” another user wrote.

Considering just how insanely powerful Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo are shaping up to be, the patch could have a short-lived run of relevancy. That said, there’s no better time than the present to play as arguably Goku’s coolest form.
