There are a lot of legendary effects you can get for weapons in Fallout 76. Here’s a look at the best that you should seek out!
It’s not uncommon for players to switch their builds as they progress. Not only that, but with the introduction of raids, players have been swapping out loadouts, weapons, and armor sets to increase their odds of survival. This topic will cover some great legendary effects that often get overlooked by players.
1
Aristocrats (Weapon)
1-Star Weapon Effect
- Effect: Up To +50% Damage Based On The Amount Of Caps The Player Is Carrying
Aristocrats can have a very powerful effect on wealthy players. Most veteran players roam around the wasteland with more than a handful of Caps in their pockets. At a certain point in the game, Caps become pretty easy to obtain. The Aristocrats effect boosts the player’s damage output. The more Caps the player carries, the more damage they’ll do to enemies.
This effect has a limit of +50%. However, doing 50% more damage just by carrying plenty of Caps is a pretty powerful effect that many players often overlook.
2
Executioner’s
1-Star Weapon Effect
- Effect: +50% More Damage When Your Target Is Below 40% Health
While it’s a relatively niche effect, when used with the right setup, it can be very powerful. Boss enemies are bullet sponges. Not only that, but every boss battle has a time limit. If the player fails to take the enemy down within that limit, then they will fail the event.

A good Executioner’s weapons can be very useful when it comes to finishing off tough enemies. It’s worth noting that it’s not particularly great as a primary weapon. But when used as a secondary weapon, this effect can be devastating.
3
Two-Shot
1-Star Weapon Effect
- Effect: +1 Projectiles +25% Damage
Simply put, this effect increases the player’s damage output by 25%. This is a great lazy effect as it doesn’t require much effort. It works well with just about every ranged build. That said, it’s best used on fast-firing automatic weapons.
When used in combination with other effects such as Explosive and V.A.T.S. Optimized, it can be truly devastating. This effect can be great against enemies such as Fog Crawlers and Super Mutants, as they tend to be quite tanky. Taking an enemy down fast is a must. So, if the player can increase their damage output without needing to change their build, having a decent Two-Shot weapon on hand can be very useful during certain battles.
4
Resilient
3-Star Weapon Effect
- Effect: +250 Damage Resistance While Reloading
Thanks to the release of Raids, many players have needed to change their build types. Having the highest possible damage resistance is a must when taking on a Raid. Some enemies have the power to kill the player with just a single hit.

Raids in Fallout 76 aren’t easy, but with these tips, players will be clearing them in no time.
Due to the naturally high damage resistance of most enemies in a Raid, players need to maximize their damage output. That’s where heavy weapons come in. Heavy weapons are great for completing Raids. Their only real drawback is their rather lengthy reload time. Being able to reduce incoming damage while reloading a heavy weapon is incredibly useful while completing Raids.
5
V.A.T.S. Enhanced
2-Star Weapon Effect
- Effect: +50% Chance To Hit A Target In V.A.T.S.
A missed shot in V.A.T.S. is a wasted shot. When it comes to taking down tough enemies, every shot counts. Players who rely on V.A.T.S. as a part of their build will want to make sure that they hit their intended target as often as possible. Being able to boost the chance of a shot landing by 50% can be incredibly useful, especially if the player is using a weapon with expensive ammo.
While many players opt for effects such as Rapid and Explosive, V.A.T.S. Enhanced can help players take down enemies considerably faster than normal.
6
Bolstering
1-Star Armor Effect
- Effect: +35 Energy & Damage Resistance The Lower The Player’s Health
This effect is incredibly powerful when applied to top-tier Power Armor sets. During intense battles against tough enemies, it’s not uncommon to get caught up in the fog of war and forget to heal up in time. This effect gives the player more time to heal. This is particularly useful during Raids.
Hard-hitting enemies can deplete the player’s health bar incredibly quickly. If the player becomes more tanky, the lower their health, then they can survive just long enough to use a few Stimpaks and get back in the fight.
7
Aristocrats (Armor)
1-Star Armor Effect
- Effect: Up To +20 Energy & Damage Resistance Based On The Amount Of Caps The Player Is Carrying
Not only is this effect great on weapons, but it’s also pretty powerful when applied to armor. Depending on the amount of Caps being carried by the player, each of their armor pieces can give them up to +20 energy and damage resistance.
This is ideal for wealthy players as it turns them into a bullet sponge. When used alongside various mutations and consumables, players can dramatically reduce the amount of damage they take from enemies. This is incredibly useful during events and missions that have hard-hitting enemies, such as the Scorchbeast Queen and Earle Williams.

Frozen, Toxic, Burning, Electrified
3-Star Legendary Armor Effects
- Frozen Effect: 5% Chance To Deal 12 Cryo Damage Per Second For 4 Seconds To Melee Attackers
- Toxic: 5% Chance To Deal 12 Poison Damage Per Second For 7 Seconds To Melee Attackers
- Burning: 5% Chance To Deal 19 Fire Damage Per Second For 3 Seconds To Melee Attackers
- Electrified: 5% Chance To Deal 18 Energy damage Per Second For 3 Seconds To Melee Attackers
This entry contains four different effects. While each effect is different, they all essentially do the same thing; give the player a chance to hurt melee attackers. There are some missions and events that are full of melee attackers. These can be rather annoying, especially if the player is using weapons that deal explosive damage.
Being able to injure melee attackers without having to physically attack them can be useful in two ways. The first is through damage output. While these effects don’t cause a lot of damage, they can be just enough to finish off enemies that are already injured. The second way is through XP gain. To gain XP for a kill, the player only needs to inflict a small amount of damage on an enemy. So, for events like Radiation Rumble, players using one of the effects listed above can rack up plenty of extra XP for their passive damage output.
