The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 could be fertile grounds for these spooky horror games to finally get their first Switch port.

The new two-minute trailer of Dream Cage revealed terrifying footage of sleep paralysis while confirming the game’s release date for February 6, 2025. In the trailer, the player lies still in bed as a frightening human figure with a mouth full of blood stands next to them. As the figure gets closer, the images become clearer, revealing that its jaw is completely dropped, leaving a gaping hole in its face. The player appears unable to move, which heightens the tension as the eerie being approaches and shoots a stream of blood from its mouth toward the player.

When Is Dream Cage Releasing?

The rest of the trailer shows the player moving through an apartment, searching for clues while strange noises surround the environment. As described on Dream Cage’s Steam page, the game features five different demons that haunt the player as they struggle to survive five nights of sleep paralysis. Like many other horror games that use the player’s microphone, Dream Cage captures every sound, forcing users to stay calm and silently move through the level.

The game features more than 25 “anomalies” that players need to uncover in order to understand how to stop sleep paralysis while facing random hauntings. Dream Cage aims to faithfully recreate the experience of sleep paralysis, combining real-life experiences with the developer’s own visions. It also features three different endings, with only one fully revealing the mystery behind the main character’s sleep problems.

The developer warns players about the potentially disturbing content, including “frequent violence and gore,” which may not be suitable for all ages. Dream Cage promises to be a terrifying experience that horror video game enthusiasts will be able to enjoy starting February 6.
