  • Right now, it’s rated Mature on Xbox Series, with no mention of PS5, but it appears that the board is still rating Capcom’s submission.
  • You can play the game right now via backwards compatibility, as it was ported to PS4 and Xbox One, so this will likely include some graphical enhancements.

Playing Resident Evil 6 night after night during the pandemic broke me. I have never felt more numbed by a video game, screaming ‘PIERS’ back and forth with a friend while we desperately clawed through No Hope — I can’t wait to go back.

Resident Evil 6 Rated For Xbox Series

As reported by VGC, the worst Resident Evil game of all-time, which was so bad that it forced Capcom to completely uproot the series with a soft reboot five years later, might finally make a grand return with an Xbox Series X/S port.

After Resident Evil 4, the series went all-in on action, and lost its way.

That’s according to a new ESRB rating, which lists Resident Evil 6 for “Xbox Series”. It doesn’t mention PS5, though it’s probably safe to assume that a current-gen port would encompass both consoles.

Resident Evil 6 first launched in 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3, but it was ported to Xbox One and PS4 just three years later. That means you can play it on current-gen consoles right now thanks to the in-built backwards compatibility.

You can pick up Resident Evil 6 for £15.99, if you really want to. Alternatively, you could get Resident Evil 4, 7, or the first game.

A dedicated PS5 and Xbox Series X/S port could offer further graphical improvements, and it would likely include all DLC by default (something that the 2019 Nintendo Switch port did).

That same Switch port also included Resident Evil 5, so perhaps both co-op games will get a new lick of paint for current-gen. Right now, though, only Resident Evil 6 has been rated by the ESRB, and only for Xbox Series. It’s likely that Capcom’s submission is still being rated, and we’ll see PS5 included soon, but for now, nothing has been confirmed.

Resident Evil 6 follows four different characters – Leon Kennedy, Jake Muller, Ada Wong, and Chris Redfield – as they fight to stop a new biological horror.
