Palworld developer Pocketpair found itself in deep water after Nintendo finally decided that it’s going to send its lawyers after it. The main point of contention was the Palspheres summoning mechanic in Palworld, which was too similar to the iconic Pokeball summoning technique we’ve seen over generations.

How Is Palworld Different From Other Clones?

If Nintendo is successful, it will set a dangerous precedent for the future of the games industry.

However, now that Palworld has changed how Pals can be summoned, it seems the pressure is off the developers, who can go full steam ahead on the future of the game. Not only did it recently launch the Feybreak update, which saw a huge flood of players come to the game, but has also revealed a roadmap for future updates.

Pocketpair Reveals Future Plans For Palworld

Considering Palworld is still in early access, Pocketpair has a lot of things that it wants to add to the game. While there has been no concrete word on when the 1.0 launch will be, the developer has revealed a list of features that we can soon expect in the game. No launch date has been mentioned for any of these updates or features, however.

The future roadmap includes the following:

-World Transfers for Pals

-Final Boss / Ending Scenario

-Further ways to strengthen and improve Pals

-Various new content such as new Pals and technologies

-Game Collaborations (Including Terraria)

-Improvements to world object placement

-Improvements to base Pals

-Improvements to optimization

The biggest takeaways from this list are co-op crossplay and the final boss/ending scenario. While the former is self-explanatory, the ending scenario will be one to watch. It will be interesting to see how Pocketpair will give the game an ending scenario, and how the end-game will proceed from then on.

Palworld Players Need To Get Over The Pokemon Comparisons

Palworld players are still hung up on old accusations

Surprisingly, and not to be deterred by Nintendo, it seems other IPs are interested in collaborating with Palworld, with Terraria being mentioned. However, it seems there are more games waiting in the wings for a possible collab with the game. While we have no word on when these changes and improvements will be made to the game, it seems as though they will be implemented before the 1.0 launch.

Palworld has been described as Pokemon with guns and well, it’s hard to argue with that. The game is very similar in nature to the Pokemon formula, tasking you with catching and working with monsters called Pals. There are key differences, though. Palworld is rooted in multiplayer, oh, and, unlike Pokemon, its Pals have guns.
