- Players debate potential nerfs to Luna’s ultimate, hoping for adjustments in future updates.
Luna Snow’s ultimate ability is being called too powerful by some Marvel Rivals players, who are calling for some sort of adjustment to come from developer NetEase in a future update. Marvel Rivals fans have been enjoying the arrival of the first two Fantastic Four members into the game, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman. The super family will be rounded out midway through Season 1 when Human Torch and The Thing bring Marvel Rivals‘ roster count up to 37.
One of Marvel Rivals‘ original 33 launch heroes, the ice-based Strategist Luna Snow has become one of the more popular support heroes in the game. Her primary fire heals allies and damages foes, and she has a defensive ability in Absolute Zero which can freeze opponents trying to dive her. Luna’s ultimate ability, Fate of Both Worlds, can be compared to Zenyatta’s Transcendence ultimate in Overwatch 2. Once activated, she can toggle back and forth between a 250 health-per-second healing boost for her and nearby teammates and a 40% damage boost.

Marvel Rivals Fans Have One Major Issue With Quick Play
Marvel Rivals players take to social media to express their dissatisfaction with one major element of Quick Play in the popular hero shooter.
Some Marvel Rivals players feel Luna Snow’s Fate of Both Worlds ultimate ability is too strong. Reddit user extremerick11 called for NetEase to deliver a nerf to the duration of Luna’s ultimate, bringing it from twelve seconds down to ten. Many players feel helpless when Luna Snow uses her ultimate and often opt to sit back and wait it out before resuming the fight.
Marvel Rivals Players Call for a Nerf to Luna Snow’s Ultimate
Many commenters under extremerick11’s post agree that Luna’s ultimate should be nerfed, but have different ideas about what a nerf to Fate of Both Worlds should look like. One fan feels like the ultimate’s duration should remain the same, but that the 250 health-per-second boost should be lowered. While it may seem so, Luna herself isn’t invincible while in her ultimate and can be killed by other heroes’ ultimates, like Scarlet Witch’s Reality Erasure or The Punisher’s Final Judgement. However, many don’t think it seems fair to have to burn their ultimate abilities just to knock Luna’s out of hers. A lower healing rate would make Luna more vulnerable while in her ultimate and give the opposing team a chance to end it early if they focus on her instead of sitting back waiting for the twelve-second duration to expire.
Other Marvel Rivals fans under the Reddit post raise the option of making Luna susceptible to specific crowd control abilities, like Mantis’ sleep or Magneto’s Mag-Cannon, that can cancel her ult. However, this may make Luna too vulnerable. Killing an ulting Luna would still take more time than stunning her out of it, even if her healing-per-second was lowered. If NetEase were to simply lower the ability’s duration, extremerick’s suggestion of ten seconds may still be a tad too long; an eight or nine second duration would likely be the sweet spot.
Luna Snow’s potential ultimate abiltiy nerf seems like a complicated balance, but NetEase may not even be planning to tweak her ultimate at all. Players will likely need to wait until the next update, which is likely mid-Season 1, to see whether any changes to Luna’s ultimate have been made.
