Summary
- Where crossover anime games have failed, Fortnite has managed to suceed with its many anime collaborations.
- That said, there are still tons of anime properties that would make for a great collaboration.
- Over on Reddit, Fortnite and anime fans discussed the shows they’d love to see get some in-game skins, including the likes of Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach.
For as successful and popular as anime is, anime collaboration or crossover video games have been anything but that. Infamously, Jump Force, a celebration of Shōnen Jump’s 50th anniversary, was reviewed poorly before being taken completely offline and delisted after about three years.

There’s Never Been A Better Time To Start Watching Anime
Crunchyroll has hundreds of shows on offer at any given time, so there’s likely something for everyone!
Somehow, though, Fortnite, Epic Games’ free-to-play live-service battle royale, has managed to buck that trend. It’s as popular as ever, having managed to collaborate with the likes of Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and My Hero Academia, among other major franchises, all with major success.
That said, there are oodles of anime franchises out there that would be ripe for a crossover. Taking to Reddit, anime fans near and far discussed the collaborations that need to happen.
Give Me All The Anime Collabs
Immediately, one fan cited Fullmetal Alchemist as needing a collaboration. To this point, nearly all of Fullmetal Alchemist’s games have been on the PS2 or Wii, making the property one in desperate need of a video game revival.
Neon Genesis Evangelion was another popular pick among gamers, with one writing, “I’d buy everything Eva related, no question.” As far as mecha collabs go, Call of Duty did cross over with Gundam, and as one fan noted, the ongoing Godzilla presence is ripe for a battle with an Eva unit.
Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t cite One Piece, which was another entry. Fortunately, a One Piece collaboration has been in the rumor mill on two different occasions, making it a when, not if scenario.
Elsewhere, Bleach was a request from fans. Indeed, the Tite Kubo manga has experienced a sort of renaissance with an ongoing anime adaptation, along with a game slated for release in 2025.
“Pickaxes alone would make me go broke,” one gamer wrote in response. And they’re not wrong, the potential for Zanpakuto-themed pickaxes is way too tantalizing.
The likes of Chainsaw Man, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Cowboy Bebop were also mentioned by fans. In other words, if there’s a fandom for it, then it’ll make for a good collab. Personally, I’d love to see Yu-Gi-Oh make its way into the game. Few things would be cooler than running around as Seto Kaiba.
