What are the best weapons this season? A Fortnite weapons tier list can be a good way to get a look at what to prioritize in looting. The game has plenty of guns, but not all of them are in the meta. There are always some guns which rise above the rest to become the best Fortnite weapons.
While the loot pool has gotten quite a bit more complicated in more recent Fortnite patches, there’s still some of our best weapons we’ve had in a long time. The guns outside of novelty items have been impressive for a few Fortnite seasons now. Your time to kill could be quicker than ever if you know what to carry. This is how the current meta looks for a Fortnite weapons tier list.
S Tier – Fortnite Weapons Tier List
Holo Twister AR
One of the best weapons we’ve seen added lately. The Holo Twister AR, is a fantastic gun that’s on par with the MK or Red Dot. A first-person AR, it’s one of the hardest-hitting and fastest we’ve seen. It can do an incredible amount of damage. In the Mythic form, it’s even better. While the gun has alternatives, this is one of the best at the moment.
Sentinel Pump
The clear standout for shotguns this season, the Sentinel pump is a classic type of Pump Shotgun. It hurts hard, has great headshot damage, and more benefits. The Sentinel Pump even has more shots and better speed than we expect from a pump.
Veiled Precision SMG
The Veiled Precision SMG is a surprisingly powerful gun in Chapter 6. It’s an SMG with a sight. Not quite as long-ranged as the Holo Twister, but just as powerful. In medium-range with that scope, it kills significantly better than a lot of ARs. The Mythic you get is fantastic too.
A Tier – Fortnite Weapons Tier List
- Kinetic Blade – A bit situational, but has very good mobility and the pushback feature works well too.
- Typhoon Blade – The Melee attack can be outgunned, but the pushback and mobility benefits are fantastic. Especially when paired with the new C6 medallion.
- Lock-On Pistol – A bit of an underrated item. Good for dealing damage guaranteed to the head, creative plays, and even scouting in later circles.
- Hunting Rifle – The best Marksman Rifle in the game right now. No scope, but in the right hands, it is deadly.
- Rail Gun – A great unvault. Does great damage and shoots through builds. Quite slow to fire though.
- Recon Scanner – A weapon that gives you the exact location of enemy players. A good tool, but a bit rare in the loot pool at the moment.
B Tier
- Fury AR – Not up to par compared with the Holo Twister, but a decent enough scopeless variant.
- Twinfire Auto Shotgun – This season’s version of the Auto, is reminiscent of a Drum Shotgun. It’s a solid gun but the Pump is just better.
- Surgefire SMG – A more traditional SMG, not much of a reason to carry it over a Veiled Precision though.
- Suppressed Pistol – A decent starting weapon. Nothing too wrong with the pistol, but just not worth wasting one of five slots on when it’s a basic gun.
C Tier
- Oni Shotgun – It may have been buffed in some Fortnite updates, but the Oni remains kind of awful. Two is just not enough shots when the reload is so sluggish and damage so low.
- Fire Mask – Okay in Zero Builds, but just too slow and dramatic. In the time it takes to fire off two rounds, you could be dead three times over from a better-used Holo Twister.
- Ranger AR – Slow firing Ranger is back. Now one of the worst ARs in multiple season’s loot pools.
