After finally meeting up with the Doctor, Skif discovers a wounded Strider at his doorstep towards the end of the Dark Times main mission in Stalker 2. After having a long conversation about Strelok, the Doctor asks Skif if he can retrieve a Monolithian device that could save Strider’s life, thus starting An Act of Mercy main mission. This mission is quite straightforward, but there’s a special objective that can make things a lot harder for players.

Vadyk Firecracker is a random NPC in Bloodsucker Village who radios Skif to help him eliminate the mutant that’s roaming around in Stalker 2.

Finding the Monolithian Device in the Cable Tunnel

Once the conversation with the Doctor concludes, head over to the Cable Tunnels location to retrieve the Monolithian device. Once you reach the building, go inside and start descending the lights of stairs until you reach the lowest level. Now there will be enemies ahead, and you must not kill them to fulfill the Doctor’s optional request to take care of enemies non-lethally.

Although shooting enemies in the leg will take them down without killing them, it will still mark the Doctor’s optional objective as failed. So, even if you shoot enemies in the legs to incapacitate them, it’ll still count as a kill, rendering the special objective failed. Make sure to stock up on a lot of medkits to keep restoring HP as you run past all the gunfire.

Here’s how to find the Monolithian Device known as the Regenerator in An Act of Mercy quest.

  1. Run past the first soldier and enter the tunnels at the back of the room.
  2. Go left from the corridor and enter the vents at the end to enter the next section of the tunnel.
  3. As soon as you exit the first vent, turn right and enter another vent that’s leading upwards.
  4. Jump down from the vent’s opening to enter a hospital-like room. Be vary of several Monolithian soldiers patrolling this area.
  5. Quickly exit the room, run into the corridor, then keep following the hallways until you arrive in an open area with two open doors.
  6. Enter the door to the right to reach the room with the Regenerator.
  7. Quickly take the Regenerator, make your way back to the upper sections, and out of the Cable Tunnel building.

Once you have the Regenerator, you’ll need to make your way back to the Doctor’s house.

Taking the Device back to the Doctor

Once you arrive at the Doctor’s house inside the anomalous field, the front door will be unlocked this time around. Head inside the house, and enter the living room to grab a unique marksman rifle from the table called the Whip. After taking the rifle, head further into the house until you spot an open cellar down at the back of a room.

Head down to the basement and open the door. This will trigger a long cutscene that will show that Strider has gained consciousness and has started attacking the doctor under the influence of the Monolith. It’s a pretty cool cutscene that will eventually lead to players starting the next main mission, “Legends of the Zone” in Stalker 2.

Once you exit the Doctor’s house, he’ll pay you a huge amount of Coupons as a reward if you successfully manage to avoid killing even a single enemy during An Act of Mercy quest.
