2024 was a big year for Pokemon TCG, both thanks to some incredible set releases and the launch of the new mobile game Pokemon TCG Pocket. Still, Pokemon TCG is starting 2025 with a bang with the release of the highly anticipated and sought-after set called Prismatic Evolutions, which is all about Eevee and its Eeveelutions.

Pokemon TCG’s Surging Spark set was the last of 2024 and became massively popular due to the Special Illustration Rare version of Tera Pikachu Ex, which was sold for around $500.

Prismatic Evolutions is selling out quickly, so The Pokemon Company released a statement on social media announcing that more reprints of this expansion will be sent to stores as soon as possible. This is good news on multiple fronts, as fans saw a massive increase in price for these Pokemon TCG products due to scalpers buying them in bulk and reselling them online. Prismatic Evolutions is already a hit among fans, and Game Rant recently opened a few products from it. The expansion contains the following number of chase cards:

  • 24 Pokemon Ex cards, between regular Pokemon Ex and Tera Pokemon Ex
  • 6 Ace Spec Trainer cards
  • 12 Full Art Supporter Trainer cards
  • 26 Special Illustration Rare Pokemon cards
  • 6 Special Illustration Rare Supporter Trainer cards
  • 5 Gold Cards

  • Black Belt’s Training
  • Max Rod
  • Tapu Koko Ex
  • Eevee Ex (Stellar Tera)

Instead, this is an amazing set for collectors, containing a whopping total of 32 SIRs (Special Illustration Rares), though only eight of them are based on all the Eeveelutions and one on Eevee itself. Among them is the very expensive Stellar Tera Umbreon Ex, whose Special Illustration Rare version is the most expensive card in Prismatic Evolutions and goes for an eye-watering average of $1,600. Furthermore, Prismatic Evolutions packs can randomly contain cards with the Poke Ball or Master Ball logo, or even both in a single pack, which is a treatment usually reserved for Japanese cards.

The best pulls outside of competitive Pokemon TCG include:

  • All 24 regular Pokemon Ex cards and Stellar Tera Ex Pokemon cards
  • All 6 ACE Spec cards
  • All 12 Full Art Supporter Trainer cards
  • All 32 Special Illustration Rare cards (especially the 8 Eeveelution cards and the Eevee card)
  • All 5 Gold Cards
  • Any Poke Ball-marked or Master Ball-marked cards
