- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Mobile Legends: Adventure, Watcher of Realms, and One Punch Man: The Strongest, suspended by MOONTON Games.
- MARVEL SNAP and other games from Nuverse are also suspended.
- The developers have stated that they are actively exploring possibilities to bring the games back in the future.
Amid the impending TikTok ban in the U.S., with both Apple and Google removing the app from their respective stores to comply with a law requiring ByteDance to sell the social platform or face an effective nationwide ban, an unexpected development has occurred, as the US bans MLBB, Marvel Snap, and several other games, which are no longer available in the country.
ByteDance withdraws all of their mobile games from the United States
Coming as a surprise to everyone, MOONTON Games, a subsidiary of ByteDance, has suspended services for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Mobile Legends: Adventure, and Watcher of Realms in the United States. The same goes for ByteDance’s other gaming property, Nuverse.
The company has cited the reason as: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, access to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in the US will unfortunately be temporarily suspended starting January 19, 2025.” A similar statement was issued for the other games as well.
Additionally, One Punch Man: The Strongest and MARVEL SNAP have also ceased operations in the country. As of now, you won’t find a single game from MOONTON Games and Nuverse on the Play Store or App Store, as mentioned by a fellow Reddit user.
Here’s the complete list of games from ByteDance’s properties that are unavailable in the US starting today:
- Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MOONTON Games)
- Mobile Legends: Adventure (MOONTON Games)
- Watcher of Realms (MOONTON Games)
- One Punch Man The Strongest (MOONTON Games)
- Marvel Snap (Nuverse)
- Land of Empires: Immortal (Nuverse)
- Land of Empires: Dice Hero (Nuverse)
- Mission EVO (Nuverse)
While I am no political expert, and can’t offer a strong opinion on international matters, as a Gamer, I hope these games return someday, possibly as localized versions, similar to how MLBB was reintroduced to India, as Moba Legends: 5v5. There is still hope, as the current President, Donald Trump is reportedly working to find a way to save Tiktok, according to his incoming national security advisor.
