One of the most mysterious aspects of One Piece, since the very beginning of the story, is the true nature of the One Piece itself. From the start of the series until now, fans have speculated about what Roger’s infamous treasure may be, or whether or not it even exists. In many ways, the One Piece is not only the driving force behind the entire story of One Piece, but also the core that keeps the story going after 25 years.
One Piece, so far, has revealed little to no information about what the treasure actually is and why it’s been hidden for such a long time. Simply put, outside of a few context clues and references, fans have largely no idea if the One Piece even is a collection of treasure, or something else entirely. In fact, the One Piece may be something unique, something legendary One Piece characters like Joyboy, Roger, and Luffy would appreciate greatly; a massive feast.

The Mystery Of The One Piece
The Legendary Treasure That Launched The Great Pirate Era
The One Piece is the treasure that lies at the end of One Piece’s Grand Line. Although at least a portion of it was left by the ancient being from the Void Century, Joy Boy, the treasure was claimed by Roger, the first Pirate King, and the first person to conquer the Grand Line. After finding this treasure, and presumably leaving some of his own, during Roger’s execution, the pirate revealed this hidden treasure to the world, telling everyone to go and claim it, thus beginning the Great Pirate Era.

However, later in the series, specifically during the One Piece samurai Oden’s flashback, more information about the One Piece was revealed. Namely, when Roger and his crew reached the final island of the Grand Line, the crew realized they were too early for something. Due to this, and the nature of the treasure itself, Roger and his crew couldn’t help but laugh. Here, Roger named One Piece’s final island Laugh Tale.
The One Piece Could Be A Massive Feast

- A Feast And Party Is A Fitting Reward For The Pirate King
Although many fans assume that the One Piece is some sort of actual treasure, like gold and diamond, many other fans believe that it is something more symbolic. While Oda has claimed that the One Piece isn’t a symbol for something like friendship or hard work, there are many other things that it could be. This includes a massive feast and party to reward the future Pirate King, and the potential liberator of the world.

While each crew is great in their own right, which One Piece villain has the best crew?
Potentially, the One Piece could be a massive feast to mark a momentous point in the history of the One Piece world, namely the return of Joy Boy and the liberation of the world from the clutches of One Piece’s World Government. After this, the hero of the story and next to bear the name “Joy Boy,” will be given a feast as a reward, a place where people can be free to dance and party as the Sun God Nika intended. In many ways, this could echo the party of the Straw Hats on Skypiea, something that heavily references Nika as well.
Roger Was Too Early For The Party
This Feast Is Meant For The Future Joy Boy
Additionally, Roger was early in this situation because, firstly, the time for liberating the world was not at hand. Characters like Shirahoshi and the protagonist of One Piece, Luffy, who would be major players in the world’s liberation, were not born yet. However, the other reason may be because the feast that was promised to the liberator and future Joy Boy in One Piece simply wasn’t ready yet. If this feast is going to be a reward for the greatest pirate of their era, it’s going to reach a mythical status. Though it may seem strange, in the world of One Piece, a meal taking 800 years to cook isn’t that odd.
The One Piece is real! – Whitebeard
In the end, although the One Piece in One Piece’s Final Saga could be anything, it would be interesting if it was something akin to a feast or a party. This would also be one of the greatest rewards a pirate like One Piece’s Straw Hat Captain, Luffy, could ask for. However, until the treasure is revealed in One Piece, fans will have to wait patiently before learning what it might be.
