At the time of writing, the Silent Hill 2 remake has been out for 100 days. And yet, one player has amassed 1,390 hours of playtime, ie 57.9 days. That means they’ve spent on average 14 hours per day playing the game… Why?
Well, there are a few possibilities here that are, frankly, more likely than someone no-lifeing a single-player survival horror for that many hours. There isn’t nearly enough to justify 14 hours per day. You can get every single ending and all the trophies within just 30 to 50 hours.
What’s more likely is that Reddit user G1GG135_ left the game running with their PS5 open just to rack up the hours for this very post. They claim that’s not the case, alleging that “All of these hours are actually active” and that they have streamed in front of others as proof, but that seems incredibly unlikely.
Even just farming hours while AFK, that means they left their PS5 on without playing it for potentially over 1,300 hours. That’s an incredible waste of power and time. But it’s not just the remake that they’ve done this with.

Silent Hill: The Short Message was released on January 31 last year. It only takes around two hours to beat, as it’s a much shorter entry in the series.
However, G1GG135_ somehow amassed 1,560 hours of playtime. Since they last played it three months ago, they hit that number in roughly 260 days, which is equivalent to playing it for six hours a day, beating it three times per day on average.
Again, it’s more likely they just left their console idling the game to get the hours, which still feels like a total waste of time. Is it impressive, though? Going by the comments, no.
