Dynasty Warriors Origins Frequently Asked Questions
A guide containing answers to some of the more frequently asked questions about Dynasty Warriors: Origins, including info about multiplayer support.
Naturally, some players will want to know which is the best faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, particularly those who are unfamiliar with the franchise and Luo Guanzhong’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms. This guide will attempt to answer that question, with no major spoilers.
Which Faction Should You Choose in Dynasty Warriors: Origins? (No Spoilers)
For all intents and purposes, it makes no real difference which faction players choose to support in Dynasty Warriors: Origins. This is because after finishing their playthrough, they’ll be able to return to the beginning of Chapter 3 and complete the other two storylines as well. All three routes feature the same number of battles and take roughly the same amount of time to complete when tackled with the same rank and difficulty setting, so players are free to choose the faction whose leadership and ideals resonate best with them for their first run.
Which is the Best Faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins (Mild Spoilers)
Cao Cao is the one who emerged victorious from this initial struggle for power, so those hoping to be on the winning side of history will want to fight alongside Wei. If players only plan on completing a single playthrough and would like to see one of the true endings then Shu might be a better option, particularly if time is of the essence. This is because they’ll only need to alter one character’s fate in order to unlock Liu Bei’s true ending, as opposed to two with the other two factions.
Can You Side with Multiple Factions in Dynasty Warriors: Origins?
Although it’s possible to stay on good terms with all three factions for a little while, players will need to have chosen which one they want to side with by the end of Chapter 3, after which, they’ll no longer be able to complete battles for the other two. Depending on the battles they opt to complete and which forces they choose to fight alongside, the decision may have already been made for them by that point, although it’s technically possible to complete 14 different battles in Chapter 3 and still be left with a choice between Wei and Wu.
To do so, players should complete the initial six battles and then choose Cao Cao in the Battle of Xu Province and the Sun clan in the Battle of Xiaopei. As mentioned above though, they can easily return to the start of Chapter 3 after completing one of the three storylines, so would arguably be better off making their decision right away and then focusing on completing battles for their chosen faction during their initial run.
